According to the Animal Poison Control Center (APCC), there were 4% more calls about pet ingesting toxic substances in 2024 than in 2023. APCC staff responded to 451,000 calls in 2024 alone! The graphic shows the top ten toxins for cats in 2024.
If your pet has ingested a toxic substance, or if you are not sure if the substance is toxic, do not try to induce vomiting as it may be dangerous to do so. Does your dog or cat show any of these signs? From the day that you pick up your new puppy or kitten, we recommend starting them on a home dental care program which involves getting them used to brushing their teeth, feeding them a complete and balanced diet, and preventing them from chewing on bones or very hard objects. This will be invaluable in preventing dental disease.

Get your dog or cat started on the road to dental health by booking a professional dental cleaning and brushing their teeth between veterinary visits.
