Right when we feel like we’re finally clearing one big hurdle (and Remi is doing well! ❤️🩹), another challenge seems to land in our laps.
Little Lisa recently tried to make a great escape from her pen and unfortunately ended up with a fractured femur. These unfortunate, fluke accidents happen, and while no one is to blame, it’s certainly been another unexpected challenge for our rescue.
Lisa received emergency X-rays and was promptly seen by an orthopedic surgeon. She has now returned to her foster home, where her amazing foster family is providing her with lots of love, care, and close attention as she begins her recovery.
The good news is that we’re expecting a full recovery! It will take approximately six months for her leg to fully heal and for her muscles to rebuild, but fortunately, there should be no long-term concerns.
Her emergency care and surgery resulted in a $4,130.64 medical bill. We are currently running our Great Wolf Lodge fundraiser, and if you’d like to help us cover Lisa’s unexpected medical expenses, donations are incredibly appreciated.
Invoices are attached.
