No more calcium dusting, no more chirping!

Obie’s Worms are nutrient rich black soldier fly larvae (also called Calciworms(TM) and Phoenix Worms(TM)) perfect source of protein for your insectivore pet - reptiles, amphibians, even hedgehogs love them! Unlike crickets, there is no chirping with Obie’s Worms and they have all the calcium your pet needs; so no inconvenient dusting with calcium powder and, because they are squirmy and active they will delight your insectivore. Named for our company’s leopard gecko Obie, Obie’s Worms are raised sustainably in Atlantic Canada and can be shipped across Canada for your convenience.

Keep them cool: (15°C - 18°C). Do not store in the fridge. A bit cooler than normal room temperature. They also survive in warmer temperatures, but dry out and mature more quickly. Stored like this in their original packaging, Obie's worms can be kept for up to two weeks.

Keep them moist: one way to do this is to put an apple slice or a raw potato slice right in the package. They will gradually eat it providing moisture and food. You can also just sprinkle a little water into the container when it starts looking dry.

The substrate they come in is sawdust or coconut husk. A gentle rinse in warm water before feeding to your pet livens them up and gets them wiggly. When they are warm they will give your pet more of a hunting challenge.
