Can you see it?!
It's subtle, but Sage was telling me a lot in how she held and moved her body.
Getting old doesn't mean that pain should go untreated just because it's "normal." Sage is turning 13yo in November, and she deserves to live as pain-free as possible (as do we all!).
The top video shows Sage out on a walk with two pain medications on board - the bottom video shows her after switching to a new pain medication. If a dog isn't responsive to one medication, trying another could produce the results they need to live comfortably. (I can think of about a dozen examples of exactly this in myself, how about you?!)
Also notice... failure to respond to the initial medications ‼️did not mean she wasn't in pain‼️ It just meant that it was not the right drug for her body and condition.
Pain can also lead to problems that are dismissed as "behaviour problems" and dealt with as such, when the solution really lies in diagnostics and treatments for the pain and what under-lies it. 📣Training will never resolve a medical issue. 📣
