aerial baiting will soon begin in eastern and southern Ontario targeting raccoons, skunks and foxes.
Baits are distributed in the rabies control zone and preventatively along the U.S. border. Staff distribute baits by twin-otter aircraft in rural areas and by helicopter in urban greenspaces and corridors.

This program is an important tool for controlling and eliminating raccoon and fox strain rabies in southern Ontario.

Rabies management is a shared responsibility, we are grateful to our partners for their on-going support!
