Hi everyone,

I know it has been a little while since I have posted. I have really loved hearing from all of you with your updates, pictures, and well wishes. Thank you for thinking of me and keeping me in the loop!

I have recently discovered Kim of Tumblewood Canine and have started teaching a few classes with her at her beautiful location in Milton. Kim is also a reinforcement-based trainer whose values and techniques heavily align with mine. If anyone is looking for a puppy class, a loose leash walking class, or an off-leash fundamentals class, please reach out to her! I myself will be assisting with the Saturday classes.

I recently had the pleasure of meeting Kim, owner of Tumbleweed Canine and getting a tour of her lovely facility in Milton! Kim is an excellent trainer, if anyone in the Guelph/Fergus/Milton area is looking for a puppy class, definitely check her out! She has a class starting as soon as this Tuesday February 4th at 7:15pm. Highly recommend.

New puppy owners!!

It is the moment you have been waiting for 🐶

We are now offering Puppy Classes at Pet Valu on 200 Franklin Blvd, Cambridge EVERY SUNDAY from 6:15-7:15pm! This class is ongoing for pups 8-18 weeks of age. Come out each Sunday and give your new addition that solid foundation that you both deserve. We teach you the skills needed to train your perfect companion, and provide a safe environment for those crucial socialization skills.

$25 to join, or $100 for a set of 4 classes. Those who purchase a package of 4 classes will be guaranteed a spot each week.

Starting on Sunday January 12th from 6:15-7:15pm we are going to be offering Puppy Classes at Pet Valu on 200 Franklin Blvd, Cambridge! This class is ongoing for pups 8-18 weeks of age. Come out each Sunday and give your new addition that solid foundation they deserve for a great start to life! We teach you the skills needed to train your perfect companion, and provide a safe environment for those crucial socialization skills.

Each week we will cover:
-positive conditioning, socialization, and exposure
-supervised play and interaction with other pups of a similar age
-impulse control and managing puppy nipping
-proper play and engagement on owner
-relaxation and place training

We are SO PROUD of Judy, Doug, and their almost 3 year old Chocolate Lab, Lynda for graduating their BLACK Level last week, completing the entire Levels Program! Lynda started with us in Junior Puppy Class back in August of 2022 as a wild and fiercely intelligent little pup, and has been consistently coming to all kinds of classes. She has now grown in to a mature, loving, and still fiercely intelligent dog who has challenged that energy into making her Mom proud. Together Judy and Lynda have completed Levels, Recall Class, Novice Rally Obedience, and passed their Canine Good Neighbour Test back in May! What an amazing team, we absolutely love having you in class!

Look who graduated their BLACK level on Saturday, aka the entire Levels Program! A huge congratulations to the very dedicated Ashley, Mark, and their little mixed breed, June, for all of your hard work. June started with us as a puppy back in May of 2023, and has been attending classes ever since. She has not only completed her Advanced Obedience with us, but also passed her Canine Good Neighbour Test back in May, and her Novice and Intermediate Level Tricks! We absolutely adore having this sweet girl in class, and look at what a talented artist she is! (Painting was done by teaching June to “hold” the paintbrush in her mouth). We love you June!

For those of you who don't know, I am taking a bit of a break from dog training. With everything that has happened with my beautiful building, the economy, and the industry in general it seems like a good time to take a step back and reflect.

My goal had always been the same, to help as many clients and dogs as I can and nurture a fun and positive environment to do so. I have always been a fighter and have never been afraid to take risks, but I will admit I have gotten tired, like many small business owners and hard workers just trying to make ends meet.

I have kept it quiet for the past while because it has, admittedly, been hard to talk about; training and animal behaviour is such a large part of who I am, and without the platform to do so I know I will feel lost. My passion for working with animals (and their people) has not changed, and I will certainly be using this time to advance my own personal training goals, get back on my feet, and explore next steps in the animal industry.

I want you all to know I am still here for all of you, and for those of you who have reached out recently to check in and offer support I want to truly thank you from the bottom of my heart. You mean the world to me!

We are so unbelievably proud of this amazing group of Senior Puppies! These guys have all graduated 2 sets of puppy classes, and learned some phenomenal loose leash walking, recall, and relaxation skills. Congratulations to Frank (who own our Tricks Competition), Poppy, Wrigley, and Frieda. You all rock! 🐕

CONGRATULATIONS to our Thursday evening Junior Puppy Class: Winston, Giorgia, June, Beanie, Bailey, and Kermit (missing from photos). These guys were such an amazing group of pups who all got along so well, and learned so many awesome foundational skills. We are so proud of all of your progress! 🐶

Another big CONGRATULATIONS to Dwight, Lisa, and their Cattle Dog mix, Lexi, for graduating to your BLACK Level this weekend! We could not be more proud. Lexi is a rescued dog who started training with us back in January and absolutely rocked the Beginner Levels, quickly progressing her way to Advanced. Though she still has her hilarious quirks (don’t they all!) her owners have been working hard learning how to channel her energy into constructive activities and happy play. We absolutely love working with you Lexi 🖤

Congratulations KEIRA for graduating to your BLACK Level this weekend! We are so unbelievably proud of you and all of the hard work you and your Mom have put in. Keira started with us less than a year ago and has since completed Levels, beginner Agility, and our Recall class. She loves to learn and is eager to please! Keira really excels with her loose leash walking, extended down stays, drop on recall, and tricks. She will now be working towards her more advanced obedience and off leash skills. Keep up the great work! 🖤

We are so proud of Poppy and her Mom, Kate, for graduating to their YELLOW Level last week! These guys have been working so hard in their leash walking and relaxation skills, and Poppy has done incredible. They are now actively working towards their Canine Good Neighbour certification. Great work 💛
