On and throughout , the College celebrates the rich cultures, histories and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples across Canada. We recognize Indigenous veterinary team members and all those who bring innovation to the delivery of veterinary care in under-served communities. We also encourage Canadians to reflect on how we can continue to honour truth and reconciliation.

Reflecting on our role in reconciliation, the College has been learning about Indigenous histories and impacts of systemic discrimination. The College’s Code of Ethics has also been updated to highlight the importance of providing veterinary care that is inclusive, culturally sensitive and appropriate, as well as grounded in respect for Indigenous communities.
