The weather is starting to cool off, but that doesn't mean you should forget the family pet. I understand that you want your pet to stay warm, but a dirty matted coat will not keep him/her warm. Your pet should be bathed, brushed out, nails cut, ears cleaned to keep them comfortable through out the cooler months. I have seen pets that have not been in for grooming all winter, then come spring the coat is shaved down and comes off in one piece. This is very uncomfortable for your pet because as the fur tightens it begins to twist and pull on your pets skin, there may also be fleas or twigs that you cannot see, and because the fur is so thick, your pet cannot scratch itself.
