Post-Adoption Tuesday 🐾 💫

Dewey (previously Mango) is loving it up in his new home! He's getting so much affection and is even starting to recognize Dewey as his name! His family let us know;

"He is fitting in very well and seems to love his new home and his other fur brothers too lol. I know we love him to pieces! Such a lively boy, he loves to play with his feather toy and he loves cuddles at bedtime too. Always runs to greet me at the door also"

We're so grateful for Dewey's family and them letting us show off how he's doing in his new home!

The Ontario SPCA strives to help pet parents learn how to safely care for their pet in case of emergencies! We have an Emergency Preparedness kit available on our website for your family to fill out and ensure even your furry friends have a safety plan! You can find that information here; https://ontariospca.ca/emergency-preparedness/

Imagine you’re walking on the pavement with bare feet – is it too hot for you? It’s probably too hot for your dog, too. Burnt paw pads are painful and can happen quickly on hot asphalt, cement, or sand.

Signs of burnt paw pads can include limping, licking or chewing feet, refusing to walk, or even blisters. If you see these symptoms, contact your veterinarian right away.

To help prevent burns, walk your dog early in the morning or later in the evening, stick to shaded or grassy areas, and always check the pavement before heading out.

If you see an animal suffering in the heat, call Provincial Animal Welfare Services at 1-833-9ANIMAL or your local police. If an animal is in immediate danger, call 911.

Paws Up 🐾 🐾 For An Adoption Update 💫

Maddox (previously Xaden) is living his best life with his new family! He's getting to run around and play, but I think his family puts it best;

"Maddox is fitting in just perfectly here with us! His nick name is Maddy or Maddy Bear. Maddy loves to sunbathe, play with his toys and dig holes looking for worms 😂. Maddy is INCREDIBLY smart he knows sit, give paw, lay down, high five, and spin. He’s an energetic little bu**er with LOADS of personality, but ultimately he’s a big suck who loves to cuddle."

We're so grateful to Maddy Bear's adopter for sending in so many photos and this update! If you'd like to help animals like Maddox, you can find ways to adopt, volunteer, and donate on our website at www.onatariospca.ca/sudbury
