Hello everyone. I wanted to take the opportunity to share our new page for our farm. Follow us to see progress, learn about our changes and see what the future has in store ❤️

It seemed so funny scrolling face book before comming to write this post and seeing this. I guess today is as good a day as any.

We write this today with heavy hearts seeing after only 3 short years we are closing Howling Hound Acres.

Our family’s need for time of healing is unfortunately going to surpass our expectations and having as little additional responsibilities within our power, off our plates, is what is needed at this time.

We also want to change directions a little. So In the future you will see us establishing the new farm and will learn what these changes are. Once we are ready to jump back on the horse.

I want to thank all of our customers over the years. You made the 3 years worth all the emotional rollercoaster learning this has been. On top of our personal struggles. Thank you for being with us each step of the way and look forward to your support when we begin our new journey.

The page will be taken down by October.

We wanted to write a shout out to Fur The North.

Practices of ethical farming come in many shapes and forms. Today I discus “whole animal utilization” As farmers and hunters, this is important practice for us.

We raised our sheep on pasture and with love. When the time came for him to serve his purpose for our family, he was respectfully euthanized and butchered for meat for our family, and the fleece pelt was taken to create a beautiful and warm sheep skin.

We appreciate Fur The North for his skills in helping us ensure all parts where not gonna to waste.

If ever you need services for tanning, he is hands down your guy!

Hello! It’s that time again. Employee of the month for July! We would like to introduce you to Maverick (formerly known as Finlay) we adopted him recently from the Greater Sudbury Animal Shelter a few weeks ago.

Maverick has shown incredible determination, learning to heard sheep already and having a personality that fits right into our farm life.

Although Maverick it’s a border collie, he currently has dreams of becoming a piranha. His razor sharp piranha teeth like to find fingers, toes and even elbows while he learns he can only play the piranha game with his toys.

Help us welcome Maverick, the border collie piranha cross, who is taking this new adventure in strides! Congratulations Maverick!

Maverick wants you all to know the importance in “adopt don’t shop” so many animals after covid are being dumped at shelters and they are overrun and swamped as people return to regular life where some of these animals no longer fit the bill.

If your looking for a new companion. Please consider adopting, you won’t regret giving a loving animal and new chance at life. ❤️

In light of mavericks journey.

For the month of July, I will be donating 15% of all dog treat sales to the greater Sudbury animal shelter. We have pigskins which Maverick raves about! We keep a bag in the freezer for added comfort during his teething stage. We also have available, sweet potato turmeric and beef heart. All treats are made from human grade, butcher quality meats. UPDATE - thank you all for your kind words, shares and thoughts. Ciri was reunited with family late this evening. After a long ordeal she’s home safe and sound. Pretty freaked out but settling. Awaiting her gps collar which should solve future issues.

Our beloved farm cat Cirilla hasn’t come home for a while again. Been missing dinners which is uncharacteristic of her. She’s been picked up as a suspected lost cat, and Managed to get locked in someone’s garage previously. If you’ve found our sweet girl. Please let us know. And if your in our neighbourhood, checking sheds, garages, etc on your properties l, this could be very helpful. If she got injured, scared or ended up to far from home to find her way back, she may be hiding. Please let us know if you’ve seen her. She’s fixed, utd on shots, registered with the city and microchipped.

Spent our Saturday getting back into an old hobby of ours. Soulful healing ❤️

Stopped at Killarney water front for fish and chips, and the chip stand, and ice cream shop. We did our best to support as many local businesses as possible. Supporting local is so important. Especially now. Delicious food and ice cream at each stop. Thank you Killarney Outfitters Herbert Fisheries - Fish and Chips and Aunt Bea's Corner Kitchen right across from Herbert fisheries and makes the absolute best home made corn dog we hands down have ever had!! This will be a new must have staple for me when we return.

If anyone is looking for a day trip I strongly suggest Killarney, so many small amazing businesses to help support, sights to see. You won’t regret it! Killarney Provincial Park

Now that we had some “us” we will be beginning a big farm project. And we can’t wait to show our progress!

I write to you all to inform of the changes to our summer season.

We will not be growing our usual lot of seasonal veggies this year, and We will not be doing markets this year. We’re disappointed to make this decision but it’s best for our family this year as we navigate some new waters.

We are excited however to be taking this time to upgrade and Finnish projects around the farm as well on build our soil health.

We feel keeping our business sales focus small while doing these upgrades will provide you all with even better products at affordable prices.

We hope you all understand as we take the time our family needs this season to heal both the land and our family.

I will still be taking egg orders, microgreens orders and dog treats in the interim

I hope you all have a fabulous summer and look forward to sharing our progress this year.
