💜🐾 At Molly’s, every pup leaves paw prints on our hearts, but some leave an imprint that lasts forever.

In May, we had the joy of welcoming sweet little Versace. She was an elderly pup with the gentlest soul, and though her health brought challenges, her spirit was pure light. We were so excited to have her back for a second stay, but heartbreakingly, Versace passed away the day before she was meant to return.

Her mom, Penny, who is just as beautiful and kind-hearted as her pup, donated many of Versace’s things to Molly’s. To honor her memory, we brought out the Cricut and created a special label for this repurposed storage container, turning it into Versace’s Toy Bin. Now, every time we get a new toy for our furry guests, we’re reminded of Versace’s sweetness and the joy she brought into the world.

Thank you, Penny Pardy, for sharing her love with us. Versace will always be part of our Molly’s family. 🐶💖

🐾 Morning quiet time on the patio with his buddy Molly, looking like an old married couple debating what to have for supper.
🐾 Forgetting he’s a big ol doggy and insisting he’s a lap dog anyway.
🐾 Cuddles, kisses, and making sure everyone is in giggles.

He’s living his best “gentle giant” life and we’re just along for the ride. ❤️😂

🐾 Meet Buddy, our newest club member! 🏆

His fur parents are traveling the province in their trailer and asked us to watch him for a couple of hours while they went to a medical appointment. With the summer heat, it just wasn’t safe to leave him alone and we’re so glad they planned ahead for his comfort and safety.

Buddy is turning 15 this September, and he spent his time here wisely, right in front of the fan, cooling off and soaking in all the love. 💕

We’re so thankful for pup parents who recognize the risks of high temperatures and take steps to keep their furry family members safe. Here’s to Buddy for reminding us all to slow down, stay cool, and enjoy the simple comforts. 🌞🐶💨

Brutus usually gets drop-in visits from us, but this time he was feeling a bit anxious being alone! So he’s hanging out at our place instead 😊 🐾 We always try to accommodate when our buddies need a little extra comfort, and judging by those smiles, I think it’s safe to say he’s loving it.

Brutus is Jason’s shadow through and through, and we’re more than happy to have him here soaking up all the love (and belly rubs)! 💛

Last week, we had the privilege of giving a small gift to my brother-in-law (care taker Sarah's husband), Zach, to lift his spirits. Since the spring, he’s been working the fire lines here in Newfoundland and across Canada. He has been gone weeks at a time, tired, exhausted, and yet still showing up every day to protect communities and land.

I grew up in Francois, where my father, Charles, was one of our community's volunteer firefighters. I watched them train hard, drop everything, and answer the call whenever it came, just like my father-in-law, Claude, did in Isle aux Morts. This work is not just a job. It is a calling. It is service in its truest form.

To all the men and women on the fire lines, whether you are close to home or thousands of miles away, you are heroes. You go above and beyond, often unseen, and you carry the weight of safety for people you may never meet.

From all of us at Molly’s, we want to send our deepest gratitude to Zach and to every single person out there fighting these fires. Your courage, your endurance, and your willingness to walk straight into danger to keep others safe is something words can never fully repay.

We see you. We appreciate you. And we will never forget what you’ve done and continue to do. ❤️💧🔥
