At first glance you might think these 2 pictures are the same litter. They are from the same parents but they were born 1 year and 3 months apart. Both litters are all boys and the coloring is nearly identical. I have a neat story about them. The top litter was the first from these parents and the puppy with the very distinct facial markings was adopted by Adam. A few months ago Adam called me, distraught because a neighbor had deliberately run down his dog. He wondered if we had any or were going to have any more puppies from the same parents. I informed him that the mother of his dog was just ready to be mated. Adam told me that he wants first pick of the litter as he hopes the spirit of his dog will come back in the next litter from the same parents. I told him that there is no guarantee that we will get another puppy that looks just like his but we can always hope. Imagine my surprise when they were born. What are the chances of 2 litters with the same number of puppies, same genders and almost identical markings?
