When I shave a matted dog down I am advocating for the dog. When I do a sub par groom on a stressed out dog I am advocating for the dog by not forcing it through for perfection. I’m not here to traumatize your dog. When I do just a bath and brush or a light face trim for a puppies first salon experience, again I am advocating for the dog. Most owners are understanding and also understand the Groomer/Client relationship is a working one where we work together to reach the desired outcome. But some aren’t. A dog isn’t a toy or a fashion / class statement it’s a living breathing animal whose whole life depends on the hands it is in and when the dog is in my hands I will advocate for him. Sometimes at the expense of getting yelled at or issuing a refund or getting a bad review. I’m always going to put the living animal before human vanity. If you don’t like that then I’m not the dog groomer for you.
