Side by side, fur brushing fur,
they ran as if they had always belonged together.
Not breed nor size nor story divided them—
only the rhythm of the forest, the music of water and wind,
the chorus of paws splashing, noses tracing invisible maps,
hearts beating to the same wild drum.

In nature’s frequency, they remember themselves.
Joy buzzes through the air,
every chase, every shake, every leap
an echo of an ancient language—
a tongue older than words,
where belonging is not taught but known.

Here, in this woodland song,
they are completely at home.

Love was in the air today — and in the pond too! Finn transformed into the Chief Aquadog, swimming like never before, a fish with a sparkle in his eyes. Our newest camper, Willow the mini poodle, twirled her joy into every step, her tail wagging so hard it nearly flew away. She made friends in an instant, welcomed as if she’d always belonged.

Braveheart melted my heart — rolling onto his back, he offered me his belly and the gentlest smile, his eyes saying more than words ever could. Even Georgia, shy as she sometimes is, trotted right up to the treat circle today, her courage blooming in the sunshine.

Barney had to have his paddle boat ride and much to my suprise lept silken wet furred into the boat from shore! Bigs is gaining more stride each visit with big smiles to match.

Georgia maintains best soulful hugs upon pick-up-makes my entire week!!

Every camp day feels like a page in a fairytale — friendship deepens, trust grows, and the forest rings with laughter and love.

These pups remind me that joy multiplies when shared, and that every sniff, splash, and wag is its own little miracle when done with a full 💗. ✨🐾

Mist of the Moment

The fields carried the hush of almost-ripened corn, a sweetness on the breeze. Now and then, a veil of rain drifted down—not a storm, just a gentle mist, cooling our cheeks, stirring the scent of earth, leaves, acorns, and tree sap. The air after it passed was alive, sparkling with freshness, as if the forest itself had been washed in light.

The dogs knew it, too. Their eyes found each other and they spun in circles of joy before the day had even begun. They leapt into the cool wind as though greeting the new season itself, eager, unafraid, alive in the turning. They chased the scents left from the night before—deer hoof and rabbit paw—threads of story woven into the forest floor.

Dogs do not hold on to yesterday. They do not ask for tomorrow. They simply welcome what is here, now. And if we let them, they remind us—life is best lived in the mist of the moment.

Today the forest gave us its two faces...warm sunlit patches that made us linger by the pond, and then, suddenly, that cool hush beneath the trees. One moment the dogs were sniffing, steady and thoughtful, and the next, burst! the happiness zoomies took over.

We raced together, paws and laughter flying, leaping logs, weaving through trunks, chasing each other in a wild circle of delight. I felt it in my own bones too, that ecstatic rush when joy spills out of nowhere, when the cool dappled light kisses your skin and you can’t help but run.

We played in the pond, splashing with toys, but today was about more than play. It was about togetherness, about the way joy multiplies when shared.

Out here, I deal in happiness. I deal in joy. And these forest companions—tails high, hearts open, are my fellow merchants of wonder.

In the dappled light of the forest, Braveheart grew bolder still—venturing deeper into the shallows, chasing frogs with a glimmer in his eye, nearly all the way in without hesitation. Frankie, our little golden bullet, stole the water show, swimming longer than anyone else, his joy rippling out in sparkling waves.

We chased the small orange ball in and out of the water, laughter (and splashes) following in our wake, while a magnificent dragonfly glided past the paddle boat, its wings catching the sun like stained glass. A gentle breeze and cool shade wrapped around us, keeping the day perfectly tempered for running, leaping, and playing with friends.

It was a day where courage found its footing, joy found its rhythm, and the forest seemed to nod in quiet approval. 🌿💦🐾

🎉🐾 Happy 3rd Birthday, Mookie! 🐾🎉

Today, the forest celebrated one of its tiniest speedsters — our beloved Mookie turned 3! 🌿💛 With a sparkle in his eye and the wind always chasing at his heels, he bounded through camp like pure joy on four paws. The pack joined in the fun, tails wagging and paws dancing, as we showered him with treats, play, and all the sniffs his heart desired.

Here’s to many more years of adventures, zoomies, and the kind of friendship only a pup like Mookie can bring. 🐕✨
