Meet Waffles! 🧇

Waffles, a 3-month-old Corgi, is spending the next 2 weeks with me for her Puppy Fundamentals Board & Train while her family is away.

The goal with puppies this age is to create strong foundations, confidence, and engagement. All through fair, clear, and age-appropriate training.

I’m excited to help this little girl get the best start possible!

One of the biggest mistakes I see people make is choosing a dog based on looks, trends, or a few cute videos online.

Your dog might fit your aesthetic, but can you realistically meet their needs every single day? Energy levels, genetics, drive, temperament, grooming, training, and lifestyle all matter more than people realize.

What you’re living with is genetics. Every single day. Some dogs are bred to herd, hunt, retrieve, guard, protect, pull, work, or go all day long and no amount of love changes what they were purposely bred for.

Choosing the right breed means being honest with yourself. Not the version of yourself you want to be, but the one you are right now.

Do the research. Ask the hard questions. Choose the dog you can give a good life to. Not just the one you think looks cool.

One of the most important things we can teach a dog is the ability to do nothing without stress or confusion. Relaxation is not a default state. It’s a trained skill that creates structure and emotional clarity.

When a dog can switch off on cue, they begin to regulate themselves instead of constantly reacting to their environment. That ability impacts everything from focus in training to behaviour in busy, distracting spaces.

A dog that can relax is more grounded, more stable, and easier to live with.

Nibbler went home yesterday after completing his Board & Train program 🥹

Over the past two weeks, we focused on creating more structure, better communication, and calmer decision-making in his daily life. He made a lot of progress with his overall manners, focus, and ability to settle.

I’m really proud of how far he came during his stay, and I’m excited to continue supporting his owners through follow-up in-home sessions to help make the transition home as smooth and successful as possible.

Meet Nibbler 🐾

This 1-year-old French Bulldog just joined me for his 2-week On-Leash Obedience Board & Train.

Nibbler is here to work through some everyday challenges like food stealing, big excitement levels, jumping, chewing, and polishing up his potty training.

His owners’ goal is a dog who is calm at home and able to comfortably settle into a daily routine.

Over the next two weeks, we’ll be focusing on building better habits and more clarity through:

• Clear communication with a marker system
• Basic on-leash obedience: sit, down, place, heel, recall
• Loose-leash walking
• Impulse control and calmer decision-making
• Neutral behaviour around dogs, people, and distractions
• Confidence in new environments
• Focus and reliability in daily life

Excited to get started with him and help him build a stronger foundation over the next couple weeks!

If you’re not washing your dog’s bowls daily… you should be.

Between leftover food, saliva, and water sitting all day, those bowls build up bacteria fast. And while it might not seem like a big deal, it actually can affect your dog more than you think.

Training isn’t just commands. It’s also everything that impacts your dog’s routine, health, and consistency.

Clean bowls are a small habit… but they make a big difference.

A dog is only as trained as their owner’s consistency. You can invest in training, learn all the right techniques, and teach all the right commands, but if those things aren’t applied consistently in real life, they fade quickly.

Dogs learn through patterns. They repeat what works and ignore what doesn’t. So if your follow-through is inconsistent, your dog’s behaviour will be too. It’s not stubbornness, it’s learning.

The reality is, most behaviour issues aren’t because the dog doesn’t know better. It’s because the expectations aren’t clear or consistent enough for them to succeed. One day something is allowed, the next day it’s corrected and from the dog’s perspective, that’s confusing.

When you tighten up your consistency, everything changes. Commands become clearer. Boundaries become easier to follow. Your dog stops guessing and starts understanding.

That’s when training actually sticks.

Programs available:
On-Leash Obedience (2-Week Program) — now $1100 (regular $1600)
Off-Leash Obedience (3-Week Program) — now $1900 (regular $2400)
Behaviour Rehabilitation (4-Week Program) — now $2700 (regular $3200)

Requirements: Dogs must be crate trained, current on vaccinations and preventative care. No aggression or anxiety. Mild reactivity is acceptable for the 4-week program.
