HEATSTROKE in animals is a life-threatening condition!
📣📣📣📣📣📣📣📣📣📣📣📣📣📣📣📣📣📣📣📣
Cats and mainly dogs can overheat 🔥 very quickly and become a major emergency. Animals can sweat like people and their only means to try to cool down is to pant. 😭 It is very important on hot days to keep your animals inside with a fan, air conditioning and/or cool water handy. Only take them for walks very early morning or very late at night.
Brachycephalic breeds are any dogs/cats that have squat small muzzles, such as Pugs, Bulldogs, Shih Tzu and Himalayans to name a few.

It is important to seek medical attention as soon as possible if you suspect your animal may have heatstroke. Heatstroke can cause seizures, organ failure and death in worse case scenarios.
Make sure that animals with heatstroke are cooled slowly, with cool wet clothes to there belly, armpits, neck and pads. NEVER place an animal with suspected heatstroke in a COLD bath, pool or pond. Cooling animals too quickly can make them go into shock 😲
