I will be taking a short break from accepting new clients while I update my page and add new information. However, if we have already agreed to work together, I will continue helping. ⚠️🐾 GDV aka Bloat, one of the BIGGEST EMERGENCIES in veterinary medicine. What is it? GDV (Gastric Dilation and Volvulus) or also called “bloat” is a life-threatening emergency that occurs when an animal’s stomach becomes bloated and flips over on itself causing blockages at the entrance and exit of the stomach. This occurs most commonly in large, deep-chested dogs. There is no known exact cause, but exercise after eating, does increase risk. It is very TIME SENSITIVE and requires IMMEDIATE emergency surgery to fix. ⚠️🐾
Symptoms: unproductive vomiting or retching, pale and tacky gums, excessive drooling, swollen and hard belly, panting and pacing (restlessness), breathing difficulties, collapsing, death
How to best avoid this: feed multiple, smaller meals throughout the day, resting a few hours after eating

Millie has the most energy and will stare deep into your soul looking for the next playtime. 😂 They are learning how to stay calm and not worry so much about things in their world…aren’t we all! 🐶🐾🥰

Thunderstorm tips for helping your pups feel safe! ⛈️

🎧Quiet ears/Ruffmuffs/dog ear muffs🎧 - These are great as dog’s have sensitive ears making the sound of thunder even louder and scarier. Make sure to get your pup used to this before trying it the night of a storm. These can be found on Amazon.

🎶Calming music🎶 - A lot of classical music can help calm dogs and muffle out the sound of thunder. Make sure to practice with music beforehand so your dog sees this as a “time to be calm.”

ThunderShirt - applies even pressure that can help take away anxiety. Acts like a big, comforting hug!

Heat warning issued for central and eastern NB for the next 2 days, potentially into Wednesday as well. Humidex reaching from 36-39 degrees. Please make sure your animals are safe indoors with air conditioning. Stay cool out there!

Heat warning in effect for today and tomorrow 🔥 Even with the windows cracked, your parked vehicle will get too warm and can turn into an oven quickly! Leave your pets at home, do not leave them in your car.
Heat stroke can be fatal in our furry friends. 🥵 🐾

☀️Summer is a fantastic time of year, but we do have to be cautious with our fluffy creatures. It is really easy for our 🐶 and 🐱 to become overheated in this weather. Make sure to test pavement and walkways so paw pads don’t burn either. Keep cool out there! 😎

Meet Artemis! This handsome boy is a 2yr old Golden Retriever who loves to snuggle! True to his breed, he likes to communicate and play using his mouth. We are using some impulse control games and teaching other behaviours that he can do instead. He is such a sweet boy!

Meet Lucie! She is a cute little 2yr old chihuahua/dachshund mix who is full of s***k and LOVES treats! She is very intelligent and catches into things quickly. Her mom is working hard to show Lucie that people and other dogs can be fun instead of scary. Isn’t she adorable? 😍🐾
