To my followers/people who have sent me questionnaires:

If anyone sends me a puppy questionnaire or email and DOESN’T receive a response back, please please check your junk or send me a message here.

I’ve replied to a fair few questionnaires with no responses back, and I was informed by another puppy inquiry that they found my email in their junk and almost missed it!

I respond to EVERY inquiry and questionnaire, typically within the same day unless life gets in the way, but I always reply, no matter what! 🙂

Dalia, now Sydney, went to her new family in Nova Scotia last weekend too ❤️

She is so sweet, kind, affectionate and was my favorite (shhh don’t tell the others)

Tychee, now Lilith, arrived in Newfoundland Monday night!
I was told she did amazing and slept the whole flight 🥰 Thank you to Emily for taking her on the plane with you and for taking great care of her on the way to her new family!

She spent her first night in a hotel, did great overnight and did her business outside in the morning with her big sister Luci! Her mom reports that she’s fitting in like she was always there 🥹

Meet Shai!
Or Shy-Guy as I call him - though hes anything but shy!

Originally spoken for, this super sweet guy is now and looking for the perfect spot to land! His family made the responsible but tough choice to wait until a better time for them to add a puppy to their lives.

He’s an affectionate, confident and happy boy. He loves to play with toys - he liked to sit in the middle of the room at puppy yoga and just squeak on a toy! Loves people, very sweet and social.

Tychee (now Lilith) is headed on a flight tomorrow to go to her new family in Newfoundland!

To prepare her and hopefully make the experience less stressful with one less new/unknown thing, I’ve been working on conditioning her to have a positive emotional response to a soft carrier that can go under the seat on a plane!

Lots of praise, treats and gradual exposure. I started out just rewarding her for looking at, interacting with or going near the carrier and then slowly worked up to her going inside it on her own, then putting her into the carrier, and eventually doing it all the way up!

We live under a flight path so the puppies are no strangers to loud plane sights and sounds, so that should help a bit too! She’s a smart girl - and going to have the best time on the Rock!

Puppies had their final physical exam at Hometown Veterinary Hospital today before going to their new homes!
Tychee and Dalia head off on Sunday and the rest next week 🥹❤️

They needed their lil toes done but I somehow misplaced my clippers - bought new ones after their appointment and now they have nice short nails again!

Aisa is still looking for a spot to land. She’s a super sweet, affectionate, energetic and outgoing girl who loves to give kisses to everyone. Full tail.

“Return”

The dreaded word, a decision that can have a lot of stigma attached to it, one that no loving puppy owner wants to make, but sometimes a necessary choice.

As a breeder, it sucks to hear, but I don’t think that we should be afraid or ashamed to admit that we have had a puppy returned. How we handle it and what we do with the information it provides us with is what really matters!

Peri from my Helios x Miso litter has had a tough time adjusting since she was placed in her new home at 6 months old. I’d previously shared about her struggles with fear of new people, and her owner has invested a lot of time and effort into helping her, but sadly Peri has not made progress in the way we had all hoped.

As much as a breeder can plan, health test, pour their heart and soul into a litter, and do their best to match puppies to their prospective homes, sometimes genetics just don’t work out the way we think they will, and sometimes a specific puppy’s temperament or personality just doesn’t complement their owner’s lifestyle. Peri’s just doesn’t match her mom’s, and that’s okay.

We will see how she transitions back to my home and go from there! She is, other than the intense fear of strange people, a very sweet, affectionate and happy girl at home - she loves to play with other dogs, loves her human very much, adores training and is nuts for hiking. I will be in no rush to place her, but she will be available in the future to the right home.

There is nothing but love from me for Peri’s owner, there is no blame to be placed, and I know she’s only making this decision, a very heartbreaking one for her that I support fully, because it’s what will be best for Peri long term.

She is the dream puppy home, took amazing care of little Per Bear while she had her, and as I told her, once a part of the Luxlight family, always a part of the Luxlight family 💜

The puppies had a wonderful time at Freddy Puppy Yoga over the weekend, held at The Nest Yoga!
They were playful, happy, confident and sassy! Very happy with how they handled it all.
