Wood Buffalo Animal Rescue Committee Wood Buffalo Animal Rescue Committee is ran completely by volunteers who have dedicated their time and love to help rescue animals in need.

Wood Buffalo Animal Rescue Committee is an organization dedicated to helping animals across the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo as well as all surrounding areas. The rescue was formed to help the remote community of Fort Chipewyan with the over population of stray animals and animals that needed to be re homed. Over the last couple of years it grew into a bigger mission and helping animals in all the surrounding area of Wood Buffalo.

Adoptable Jackie 🩷 🐾

This happy girl is full of personality and always ready for her next adventure. She absolutely loves her toys, is very food motivated (which makes training a breeze!), and enjoys getting out for walks. She’s also been joining her foster for morning runs and is building up her running skills. While she’s still polishing her leash manners, she’s eager to learn and making great progress every day.

Jackie can be a little enthusiastic when meeting new people, but once she feels comfortable, her sweet and affectionate personality shines through.

She doesn’t resource guard her food, has lots of energy, and would thrive with an active family or a playful canine companion who can keep up with her.

Adoptable Boogs 💙

Boogs is a handsome boy who’s making wonderful progress in foster care and is looking for a patient family to help him continue building his confidence.

He’s currently working on his leash manners and learning that new people, places, and experiences aren’t so scary. Because Boogs had limited socialization early in life, he can be cautious with strangers and has some typical shepherd alert barking. With positive reinforcement, consistency, and time, he’s improving every day.

Once Boogs gets to know you, his true personality shines. He’s incredibly affectionate, playful, and loves spending time with his people and foster fur sibling. Smart, eager to learn, and full of potential, he’s ready to find a family who will celebrate every milestone with him.

Adoptable Hope 💗

Hope was born in care to momma Holly and through no fault of her own is looking for a new forever home. Hope is a sweet, affectionate girl who’s ready to find her forever family! She’s house and kennel trained, rings a bell when she needs to go outside, and knows commands like sit, down, paw, and stay. She has excellent recall, loves car rides, and enjoys being included in all of life’s adventures.

Hope is an active, intelligent dog who loves chew toys, Kongs, and staying busy. She enjoys her doggy friends and littles as well, and has done well with a variety of dog walkers.

Like many rescue dogs, Hope is continuing to build her confidence in new situations, specifically loud noises and around men but is working on this with her wonderful foster. She thrives with patient, positive guidance and will do best with a family who can continue helping her shine.

Now that Peaches babies have went into their own homes she is THRIVING with her foster family - she absolutely loves spending time with the kids and her fur sibling Leia 🐶 She is spending her summer days at the lake and catching waves!

Peaches is best described as quirky 💛—from her big ears to her adorable face, she’s full of personality. She’s blossomed into a confident, loving girl who enjoys both outdoor playtime and relaxing with her people.

Her cutest habit? Playing with her toys while laying on her back and holding them over her head—it’s the sweetest thing!

Peaches loves treats (they’re definitely her love language 🍪), is gentle and affectionate with kids, and soaks up all the cuddles she can get.
