I have 3 lease horses available at Nordic Farms, on-site only, 1 ride a week must be a lesson (licensed coach) 1/3 (2 rides a week) to full lease (5-6 rides a week) options:
1. 15.3 1/3 hh 2017 chestnut gelding. Has shown up to 1.20m, 1.10m jumper derbies, and has schooled 1.40m at home. Has great flatwork, knows leg yielding, shoulder in/out, haunches in/out, half pass, collected trot/canter, extended trot/canter, flying changes and counter canter. Loves cuddles, super fun to ride and a great competitor. Does need a more advanced rider as he is very forward jumping.
2. 17.2 hh 2018 chestnut gelding. Flat only, super chill, goes nicely into your hand, working on collection and extension at trot and canter, knows some leg yielding, but he’s a big body to move! So it’s a slow process. Not spooky, the same every ride. Big goofy personality.
3. 15.3 hh 2019 grey mare. Green to jumping and flat, but coming along well and quickly. Had a foal last year, did go to a show before breeding and loved it. This mare has a ridiculous amount of try. She is smart and cuddly and tries to figure out exactly what you want and gives it 110% every time. Goes in a snaffle, no spurs, so nicely sensitive. And she will go all day for you.
Message for more info, videos, or questions! Tryouts are welcomed before signing anything. Month-to-month leases, so not having to commit to 6-12 months. And these are NOT free leases, which means board, farrier, vet and potential maintenance is to be covered by leaser, % depends on the lease.

We are looking for part time help at Nordic Farms. Sundays are mandatory, and any other day Monday - Thursday. Just mornings are available as well those days. 815am to 1230pm, full days are 815am to 330pm.
Duties:
Turning out and bring in
Feeding grain to indoor and outdoor horses
Pitching hay to the fat paddock
Cleaning stalls
General barn chores (dusting, cleaning bathrooms, disinfecting stalls, etc)
Helping hold horses for the vet and farrier
Applicant must be 18+, have horse experience, reliable vehicle, good with working quads, and good communication skills. And must be reliable to work alone.
We are a small facility, with only a handful of horses inside, but lots of outside horses to check 1-2 times a day. Pay can go up after a probation period, but we are a small family run barn.

Our goal is to never challenge a horse to something in the ring they haven't conquered at home, and fill like this is a great step to achieving that goal. Even though our horses are young, strangely 😉 they aren't refusing out! Grab this beauty while you can!

Nordic Farms breeds warmbloods for hunter jumper disciplines, provides horse training and rider coaching and offers boarding for horses of all ages. Nordic Farms is a family operation with Maren Reinbold responsible for the development of the young horses and training horses and coaching riders of all levels. Maren herself has competed up to 1.50m FEI level in Canada, and 1.40m - 1.45m in Canada, the US, the Netherlands and Germany. She was a resident rider for two training stables in the Netherlands and in Germany (2012, 2014) and was the only Canadian to be selected by the Hannoveraner Verband to be an exchange rider (2016). As an exchange rider she received daily coaching in the development of young jumpers and dressage horses, theory lessons in the German method for developing young horses, lectures on bloodlines, anatomy and marketing. She worked at the stallion licensing and auctions and continues to receive support from the Verband in her endeavours. Maren actively competes in hunters, jumpers and dressage and loves taking the horses cross-country schooling and on hunts. Maren holds a Certificate in Equine Science and a Diploma in Equine Science from the University of Guelph and current first-aid and Equine First Aid certification.
We offer highly competitive boarding rates for both indoor and outdoor boarded horses. We offer training and lesson programs in private or semi-private sessions. Our brand new facility has a total of 24 stalls, multiple day paddocks and fields (all with auto-waterers), summer pastures, a 100 x 180 indoor arena with state-of-the-art geo-textile footing and a 90 x 200 outdoor arena. We also have gallops tracks, hills for stamina work and a large field for outriding. The horses receive individualized care and attention and a nutrition program tailored to their needs. We’d be happy to discuss boarding and training options with you at any time!
Maren enjoys teaching and builds on her experience as a young rider (first lesson was at age 3 in NSW) in Canada combined with in depth instruction as a working student/rider in the Netherlands and twice in Germany. She can draw on the different approaches and techniques to offer the rider and the horse a training program that draws on the best approach for that situation. As a working student she rode up to 10 horses a day, received dressage lessons and had many opportunities to compete on a variety of horses - giving her an expansive array of skills that she incorporates into her training and coaching programs. Come out and give a lesson a try!
Our breeding program is built on a commitment to proven bloodlines in sport. Maren’s tenure at the Hannoveraner Verband and time spent competing in young horse classes in Schleswig-Holstein and the Netherlands have given her an excellent insight into breeding and performance requirements. Our filly, Cordelia NF was awarded the Jumper Champion Foal for the Canadian Hanoverian Society in 2017. We are committed to responsible breeding and all of our mares have been inspected by their respective stud books (KWPN, Oldenburg, Hannoveraner) and we have hosted both Oldenburg and Hannoveraner inspections. We are always happy to have breeding discussions with other interested breeders in the area.
How to find us? It’s not that difficult actually! We normally take 112th street (the one Granary Road is on) from 37th Ave, to Hwy 549, then take the River Ford (across from the Anglican Church), across the river and left on 160th St. for a few kms, then left on 370th. It takes us 20-25 minutes to get to our favourite sushi place in Bridlewood from our front door. We are about 20 minutes from Okotoks either via the River Ford or through Black Diamond. You can also go past the Millarville Race Track and head towards the river ford (but turn on 160th just before the river) and you are 2 minutes from our place. We have timed our trips from all areas of Calgary - we are about 12 minutes from Granary Road (and about 20 from RMSJ), 20-25 minutes from Spruce Meadows (was less when we didn’t have to go 70kms/hr for most of it!!), and about 25 minutes from Shawnessy. We are 15 minutes from the Moore Equine Repro Centre (by the Polo Grounds) and 45 minutes from their main clinic near Cross Iron Mills. If you’d like to come check us out, and figure out the best way to get here - give us a call, we can give you the best route and advise on status of the River Ford (it is a popular paddling area in the summer!).
