Alliston & District Humane Society Open House
Sunday, Aug 30 | 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM

Are you looking for a new furry friend to add to your family? Come meet some of our wonderful adoptable dogs at our Open House! Our dogs can’t wait to meet new people, show off their amazing personalities, and hopefully find the families they have been waiting for.

To help make this event a positive experience for both our dogs and visitors, our Dog Department will now be by appointment only. This allows each family to have dedicated one-on-one time with an adoptable dog and one of our volunteers, while helping to reduce stress and ensure the dogs are comfortable throughout the event.

Appointments can be booked by clicking the booking link here https://alliston-district-humane-society.reservio.com or by visiting our website, going to Current Events, and selecting the Open House booking link. Choose a time that works best for you, and we look forward to welcoming you!

Please note:
Only the dogs shown in this post will be attending the Open House and available to meet.
Please do not bring your own dogs to the event. If you are interested in adopting, a dog-to-dog introduction can be arranged at a later time as part of the adoption process.
No dogs will be officially adopted or going home during the Open House. This event is an opportunity to meet the dogs, learn about their personalities, and see if one may be the right fit for your family before submitting an adoption application.

We can’t wait to introduce you to our amazing dogs and help you take the first step toward finding your new best friend!

There is a registration fee of $5 to enter a photo and that comes with 5 votes. Your family and friends can also vote by donation: $1 = 1 vote. The pet photo with the most votes will win any month of their choice in our printed 2027 calendar as well as a free calendar!

The calendar will also feature a Beloved Fur Babies Memorial Page — which is sold out! Thank you to those pet parents!

Open House at Alliston & District Humane Society! 💛

Dog meet‑and‑greets will now be by appointment only, giving adopters calm, one‑on‑one time with our dogs and volunteers.

Congratulations to Our July dog Adoptions! ❤️🐾

Congratulations to all of our wonderful dogs who found their forever homes in July! There is nothing better than watching a shelter dog walk out our doors and into the loving arms of their new family. After everything they have been through, these sweet dogs finally got the happy ending they deserved.
