Aaron Harbidge Farrier Clinics

Aaron Harbidge Farrier Clinics I teach hoof trimming clinics to horse owners so they can perform basic hoof care on their own. My name is Aaron Harbidge. You won't get bored in my clinics!

I graduated from Oklahoma State Horseshoeing School in 2011, and began working as a farrier right out of school. I developed a loyal clientele in my locale until moving to the High Prairie area in 2012. After building a successful business, my knees decided it was time to quit full-time farriery. Since 2019, I have written a hoof trimming book and designed a 2-day Hoof Trimming For Horse Owners cl

inic. The clinic is unique in that I will travel to an arena near you to teach you how to trim your own horses. Rather than being stationary at one facility, this enables you to learn these valuable skills right in your own community. With a love of teaching and experience in presenting, I am an enthusiastic and fun trimming instructor. Plus, you will leave with invaluable knowledge that every horse owner should know. I look forward to seeing you at a clinic, and helping you learn how to be a more knowledgable and more confident horse owner!

Looking forward to a great clinic this weekend in Fort St. John at the North Peace Light Horse Association FSJ!

We had a student cancellation, so if you ever wanted to attend a hoof trimming clinic, now is your chance! We also have some auditor spots. Auditing is a great way to gain knowledge without needing to bring a horse or do the trimming yourself.

Here's a few photos from the clinic a couple weeks ago at Julie’s equine near Grande Prairie. Lots of great feedback from students who learned a lot!

Message me here, or call/text me at 587-321-0066 if you want a last-minute spot at the FSJ clinic!

DAWSON CREEK CLINIC REGISTRATION DEADLINE: OCTOBER 18

We've had a TON of interest in the upcoming Hoof Trimming Clinic in Dawson Creek on October 26-27. Which is great!

And I know from experience that it can be sometimes hard to plan in advance. NLC is working hard to make the clinic a success, and has let me know that the deadline for registering for the clinic is OCTOBER 18.

If you are sitting on the fence about whether or not to come, this is the ONLY clinic happening in the area this fall. Right now we have a few students, but not enough to host the clinic. But there are a LOT of people who have said they would like to come, so we know the interest is there!

Another student from a clinic says, "I took Aaron's clinic and wow! Wish I'd had this knowledge a decade ago. I now know how to care for my horses' feet much better and what to watch for when my farrier is doing the job. He's is an awesome instructor and a really kind and professional man. Can't speak highly enough of him or his clinic."

If costs are a concern, here is what one student had to say on SM when a friend commented on the fact he took the clinic: "This was some of the best money I ever spent!"

This type of learning opportunity right outside your front door doesn't happen often, and I'm hoping to see you there!

Our Story

My name is Aaron Harbidge. I graduated from Oklahoma State Horseshoeing School in 2011, and began working as a farrier right out of school. I continued to read, study, and learn, developing my skills and gaining valuable experience and knowledge in the field.

As a professional farrier, I believe that consistent, holistic hoof care is key to keeping your horse sound. While many hoof issues can be resolved on the hoof-side, other issues need to be dealt with on a nutritional side.

I also believe that you, as a horse owner, are in a unique position to be the best person to care for your horse. While nothing can replace the care of a professional farrier, I firmly believe that every horse owner should know and be able to apply the basics of hoof care. This would include a knowledge of how to use tools such as your nippers and rasp, and how to correctly trim a hoof according to your horse’s needs.

In my two-day clinic, I will share with you information that I have learned over the years, and that you need to know in order to become a better horse owner. Through a mixture of class time and practical application, you will leave the clinic confident in your ability to perform a basic hoof trim that will serve to keep your horse sound.
