We are having some issues with worms cocooning some people are having higher mortality rates than they should. I'm working on figuring out why this is. I'm hypothesizing that it's due to a change in temperature and feeding and sanitation procedures. Tips for keeping your silkworms:

1.) Keep them bone dry
2.) Give them lots of ventilation
3.) If they are large feed them less (once a day or once every couple of days) and keep them at cooler temperatures. This keeps them in a "HOLD" period where they do not grow as fast thus delays cocooning.
4.) Do not handle them. If kept bone dry there is no need to clean them all the time. The more you handle them the higher the mortality rate is.

An adult silkworm can easily go 2-4 days without feeding. The only reason you need to feed them is to hydrate them as the only source of water comes from the chow.

I hope this was informative. I appreciate all your business and if you ever have any questions don't hesitate to message us.
