A little bit of technicolor chaos. Getting all eight of these incredibly long legs perfectly aligned takes a mountain of patience and a tiny forest of colorful pins. I absolutely love this stage of the process because it looks like a beautiful, intricate puzzle right before the final reveal.

Late-night pinning sessions hit a little different under the purple glow. 🖤🔮 The studio is officially a beautiful, chaotic mess right now with wings, pins, and some incredible eight-legged friends taking over the workspace. Every tiny detail takes a lot of patience, but watching these specimens come together makes all the late hours worth it. Did you know that orb-weavers are primarily nocturnal? They often build a massive, classic wheel-shaped web at dusk, tear it down and eat the silk every morning to recycle the proteins, and rebuild it all over again the next night.

This specific type of orb-weaver adds a stabilimentum to their webs which is a zig zag like pattern! So fun!! 💕💕

Gently guiding a small soul from the physical to the ethereal. 🕯️✨ This afterlife spell isn't just about preservation; it’s a bridge between worlds. While the borax works its magic to keep the physical form intact by drawing out moisture and halting time, the crystals handle the spiritual heavy lifting.
I’ve tucked in Amethyst for a peaceful transition, Black Tourmaline for protection on the journey, Chalcedony for a calm peaceful eternal rest and Rose Quartz so they leave this world wrapped in love.

This forever sleeping angel is what's kept me busy over the last few weeks. A pet memorial for the sweetest of humans 💕

When our tiny loved ones pass, time is truly against us in how long we have to preserve them. This little bean definitely had some challenges, but over all I'm so happy to have been able to give her a resting place. (Oh! And she isn't permanently attached to her base so I'm able to move her to a larger base for her sister to join her when the time comes) 💕
