Meet the Staff Episode 1 🐾🎬

“I started this company because of my deep love for animals, but also because of the heartbreaking stories I kept hearing from pet owners. Time and time again, people would tell me they picked their dog up from a boarding facility only to come home to a completely different pet. Sometimes it was behavioral changes like anxiety, resource guarding, or aggression. Other times it was physical illness such as kennel cough, dehydration, or extreme stress.

It never felt fair to me that pets were being removed from everything familiar to them and placed into an unfamiliar environment surrounded by strangers and other animals, then simply expected to adjust. As humans, we know how stressful that would feel, so why should we expect our pets to feel any differently?

As a teenager, I began caring for dogs for friends and family in their own homes so they could remain in the environment they knew and loved. I quickly saw the incredible difference it made. The pets were calmer, happier, and far more at peace when they were able to stay in their own routine.

During the pandemic, boarding facilities became increasingly overwhelmed, and I noticed more and more pets developing anxiety and stress-related behaviors. That’s when I officially created Happy Paws Pet and House Sitting with a simple mission: to provide pets with safe, loving care in the comfort of their own home.

We want every pet to feel secure, loved, and cared for while their owners are away almost like a staycation of their own. They get to stay in their routine, eat their own food, sleep in their favorite bed, and receive one-on-one care from someone who treats them like family. As an added bonus, pet owners can also have peace of mind knowing their home, plants, mail, and property are being well cared for too.”

🌍🐾 Happy Earth Day!

Caring for our planet starts with the little things and that includes picking up after your dog. Every time you clean up, you’re helping keep our parks, sidewalks, and waterways clean and safe for everyone.

Dog waste isn’t just unpleasant! it can harm the environment and spread bacteria. So grab a bag, do your part, and help keep our community beautiful 💚

Small actions = big impact. Let’s be responsible pet parents today and every day!

One of the main questions we get asked is: do we send updates, and do they include photos? How will I know how my pup’s walk went?

We LOVE providing updates. Sending photos, videos, and report cards after each walk, drop in, or overnight brings us as much joy sending them as you get receiving them!

We use a pet parent app called Time To Pet (TTP) to send all updates, which keeps everything simple, organized, and in one place for you.

Yes our updates include photos and sometimes short videos so you can actually see how your pup is doing during their walk or visit.

Each visit comes with a detailed report card, and we put a lot of care into making them thorough and informative. You can expect:

🐾 Confirmation of bathroom breaks (p*e or p**p)
Cute photos and occasional videos from their walk or visit

🐾 A behaviour update (energy level, leash manners, reactivity notes if applicable)
🐾 Any important care notes from the visit
Details like water refills, meals given (if requested), and gear updates (wet or muddy items, etc.)

🐾Little highlights or moments we think you’d love to know

Our goal is to make each update feel like a clear “snapshot of their day” so you always feel connected, informed, and confident that your pup is happy, safe, and well cared for 💛

Any other questions you have?👇 we’ll let you enjoy the cuteness overload in the meantime 😌
