Guests of the 2026 Edmonton Parrot Show voted for their favourite birds in 5 categories—micro, small, medium, large and XL. The votes have now been tallied, and the companion of each bird receives both an award certificate and a gift certificate from Meika's Bird House!

While many of the birds were brought to the show by members of the hosting organization, the Greater Edmonton Parrot Society (GEPS), we also had several winners from Calgary who came up to the show as vendors with their companion parrots.

Several guests who attended the 2026 Edmonton Parrot Show on Saturday have asked which birds won the voting for the "most popular" in each category. Tallies have been completed, certificates have been printed, and the Gold / Silver / Bronze winners will be announced at tonight's meeting of the Greater Edmonton Parrot Society! We will then share the results on Facebook tomorrow—Thursday, March 26!

If you enjoyed the 2026 Edmonton Parrot Show, we'd love to have you join our flock!

The Greater Edmonton Parrot Society (GEPS) is the organization behind the annual parrot show, and we are also a fun and educational club for parrot lovers--whether you have a companion parrot already or if you're interested in learning more about these wonderful creatures before adopting one. Club members bring their parrots to meetings regularly, providing a unique opportunity to interact with and learn about many different species!

GEPS meets monthly from September to June, and members enjoy guest presentations from parrot experts, take part in group activities like an annual bird toy-making night and a Chop Night to make healthful veggie-based blends for our winged companions, and much more. Membership fees also include discounts at Meika's Bird House and Treats for Tweets!

FROM THE BOTTOM OF OUR HEARTS...

We are so grateful to everyone who contributed to making the 2026 Edmonton Parrot Show our most successful event yet!

From the small-but-mighty planning committee to the wonderful range of vendors from all over Alberta, from the Greater Edmonton Parrot Society (GEPS) club members who brought their birds and talked so enthusiastically with guests to the volunteers who made certain things ran smoothly so we could all have a great day, we thank you sincerely!
GEPS is passionate about our mandate: "To Educate Ourselves and the General Public About the Ethical Care of Parrots." The annual Parrot Show is not only our signature event as a club, it is one of the most effective ways we have to communicate that important mandate to large numbers of people beyond the parrot community. We absolutely could not do what we do without YOU!

Thank you again! Now, we hope you will take a much-deserved rest and give yourself a few pats on the back for a job well done. And be sure to mark your calendars for March 20, 2027—that date has been chosen to do it all again next year. Hope to see you there!

It’s a family-friendly blast and the place to be for anyone in the parrot community — to meet, connect, learn and celebrate these beautiful creatures.
