Across Ontario, reptiles are surrendered, abandoned, or left behind every single week.

At Little RES Q, we’re there to offer safe shelter, proper husbandry, and a path to a new, loving home — but we can’t do it without you.

Your Giving Tuesday donation helps turtles, snakes, and lizards get the second chance they deserve.

Give hope. Give safety. Give a future.
Gift a second chance today.

This unique critter is a yellow-headed box turtle. A critically endangered species, this turtle has not been seen in the wild since 2013. Historically, it has faced many threats including consumption by humans, collection for the pet trade, and use in traditional medicine. Breeding efforts by conservation professionals have improved and a captive population of 600-800 individuals is currently being cared for, but reintroduction efforts have been hindered as the list of threats facing the yellow-headed box turtle has grown to include pollution and habitat destruction. Photo taken at Turtle Survival Alliance, a global non-profit conservation group working to save the world's most endangered turtles and tortoises from extinction.

A group of boaters fishing off the coast of Jalisco, Mexico, recently freed a sea turtle that had become entangled in discarded fishing nets. Fishing gear is one of the greatest threats to sea turtles. This turtle was very lucky to have been rescued by these friendly boaters but many others are not. Fishing gear can result in loss of limbs, deep cuts, and even cause turtles to drown. Please be responsible with your fishing gear and when you see gear left by others take the time to pick it up--you just might help a sea turtle avoid this fate.
