Spring is in the air, but so are a few hidden hazards for our furry friends! 🌸 As you gear up for the long weekend, keep these “Easter No-Gos” on your radar to ensure your pets stay safe and sound.

🍫 The Chocolate Rule

Most pet parents know this one, but it’s worth repeating: Dark chocolate and baking cocoa are especially dangerous. Keep those foil-wrapped eggs tucked away in high cupboards!

💐 The Lily Warning (Cat Parents!)

Lilies are incredibly beautiful but highly toxic to cats. Even a small amount of pollen or water from the vase can cause severe kidney issues. Consider pet-safe blooms like Roses or Gerberas instead.

🐣 “Grass” is Not Always Greener

That colorful plastic grass found in Easter baskets is a major “no” for curious chewers. If swallowed, it can cause dangerous intestinal blockages that often require surgery to fix.

🍞 Hot Cross Bun Hazards

Raisins, currants, and sultanas found in these seasonal treats can cause kidney failure in dogs. Keep the buns on the human table only!

🚩 Signs to watch for:

Vomiting or diarrhea

Lethargy or weakness

Unusual hiding (especially in cats)

Rapid breathing

Quick Tip: If you’re planning an egg hunt, keep a “map” of where you hid them to make sure every single one is found by a human—not a nose!

Wishing you and your pets a very happy (and safe) Easter! 🐾✨
