I was honoured to handle a very special order this weekend. A sweet pooch named Cheddar was diagnosed on Friday with a very aggressive form of cancer, and his cousin family in Calgary wanted to send him a bunch of treats to devour before his time was up.

I spent all Saturday afternoon making a special treat package, but halfway through cutting gingerbread I received a text that Cheddar passed away.

Devastating.

But the family still wanted the order to be delivered, so I cut some flowers from my personal garden to give to Cheddar’s people, and included a special note from the gifter.

My heart is broken for the family. Losing our furry babies is so hard.

Worked up a new recipe for a special order this week. These chicken and sweet potato dog treats whipped up nicely, and the batch made a few extras so of course we had to taste test. Hubby and I were munching on the extras when we were done because these taste SO GOOD. The doggos are going to love them!

Our Pumpkin & Peanut Butter dog treats are completely vegan, using simple ingredients that pack big taste and lots of nutrition. If your pup can't eat eggs or wheat, these are the treats for them!

We get asked a lot at markets if dogs can eat gingerbread. Since Wiggle & Chomp offers gingerbread as one of our dog treat flavours, it triggers the question as it's not a common flavour among treat makers.
