One of our students is practicing proper haltering with Buck, a 24-year-old quarter horse gelding, who came to us as a rescue when he was 8 years old.
His previous owner was going to have him put down because he couldn’t catch him (amongst other things). Buck has never been difficult to catch for us. It just takes proper body language. Catch, not capture. Buck is a very gentle soul.

The weather this summer has sure been a mixed bag. From pouring rain and fall like temperatures to hot, muggy and sometimes smokey days. We’ve also had a lot of thunderstorms this summer, and some of the lightning strikes started wildfires. Thankfully they’ve all been brought under control and we don’t currently have any fires nearby. Our hearts go out to all our fellow British Columbians who are affected by the horrific wildfires in the southern and interior parts of BC.

It’s hard to believe that our beautiful quarter horse mare MoJo has been gone for six years already.
She passed away at 21 years of age after a lengthy illness. We still miss her every day. She was a lovely, sweet mare. Thankfully we still have two of her sons, Miho and Shooter.
