🐾 Meet Ollie – Looking for a New Forever Home 🐾

This is one of those posts that tugs at the heart.
One of our longtime clients has had to make the incredibly difficult decision to rehome his dog, Ollie, due to a major life change. This is not a decision made lightly — Ollie is deeply loved — and we’re helping support his owner in finding the perfect home for this very special boy.

Ollie has been coming to Cedar Ridge Canine for daycare and boarding since he was a tiny pup, and we can say with full confidence: he is an absolute gem.

✨ About Ollie

* Husky X, turning 2 years old on August 19, 2026

* A daycare super‑fan — it’s truly his favourite place in the world

* Loves hikes, runs, and any game that involves chasing a ball

* Working on his swimming skills and getting braver every time

* Enjoys car rides with his head out the window, soaking in the world

* Has been on a boat and loved the adventure

* Exceptionally well‑socialized with dogs thanks to regular daycare

* Great with people — friendly, confident, and well‑mannered

* Thinks cats are “small fun dogs” and gets excited around them (no harm, just enthusiasm)

* Limited exposure to wildlife but shows good grounding overall

From our side — Rob and Kelly absolutely adore Ollie. He has never given us a moment’s trouble during daycare or boarding. He’s polite, playful, social, and just a joy to have in the pack.

This is a truly heartbreaking situation for his owner, and we want to help ensure Ollie finds a home where he’ll continue to thrive, adventure, and be loved as much as he is now.

🐾 Victoria Day Long Weekend Update from Cedar Ridge Canine 🐾

Just a quick reminder that we will be closed on Monday, May 18th for Victoria Day. We hope everyone enjoys a relaxing long weekend with their pups.

We’ll be back open on Tuesday, May 19th, and Debbie from Lucky Dog will be here for nail trims starting around 1:30 PM — right after the dogs have had some playtime to settle in.

For those boarding with us over the long weekend, the kennel is open with pick‑up and drop‑off at 9 AM or 3 PM only.

🐾 Nail Trim Day is Confirmed! — Tuesday, May 19th 🐾

We’re all set for our FIRST nail trim day with Debbie, and we’ve got a great group booked in already: Moose & Tesla, Macho, Jango, Hoover, Skye, Max, and Morgan.

If you’d like your pup added to the list, just send Kelly a message or text 250‑246‑7627.

Debbie has kindly set this date aside for our Cedar Ridge crew, so please make sure your dogs are here for their appointments. Strong turnout helps us keep her coming on a regular basis.

🐾 Nail Trim Days Are Coming to Cedar Ridge Canine! 🐾

Debbie from Lucky Dog — truly one of the best nail trimmers around — is getting ready to offer Tuesday or Thursday nail trims right here at Cedar Ridge.

If your pup could use a little paw‑pampering, now’s the perfect time to hop on the list. Drop your dog off for their regular play day and they can enjoy a mini spa moment while they’re here. Playtime + pedicure = one happy pup!

We’re building the list now and we need a few more people to lock in these days. If you’ve been putting off nail trims (we get it), this is an easy, stress‑free way to get it done.

🐾 Cedar Ridge Canine Update – Welcoming New Faces & Sharing Our Gratitude 🐾

As many of you know, Lucky Dog closed its doors at the end of March. We want to take a moment to recognize Debbie for the incredible care she has given to so many dogs over the years — and for her gracious recommendation of Cedar Ridge Canine to her clients. We’ve already welcomed several of those pups into our pack, and we’re truly grateful for the trust she’s shown in us.

We’re also happy to share that Debbie will continue offering nail trims a couple of days a week at For Pets Sake in Duncan. She has also kindly offered to come out to Cedar Ridge once a month for nail trims if there’s enough interest.

If nail clipping isn’t your favourite task, this is a great chance to have it done while your dog is already here for daycare or kenneling.

We’re excited to welcome Laurie from Lucky Dog to the Cedar Ridge team! She’ll be joining us for some shifts starting in May, and we know many of her former Lucky Dog pups will be thrilled to see her familiar face.

We have lots of great things planned for 2026, and we’re looking forward to continuing to grow, support our community, and provide the best care possible for your dogs.

Spring has officially sprung at Cedar Ridge Canine, and our pups are soaking up every minute of this gorgeous weather! 🌼🐾
Outdoor play sessions are in full swing, tails are wagging at top speed, and — big news — our brand‑new toys are starting to roll in.
Stay tuned… the fun is just getting started!
