🚜 Meet Billy: The Machine Whisperer Behind the Farm
If you've farmed on Vancouver Island, chances are your rototiller, two-wheel tractor, or Grillo machine has crossed paths with Billy Metcalfe. And if it hasn’t yet, it should.
When we were looking for someone to help us with our machine, both .ky and told us to go talk to Billy.
Billy’s not just your go-to two-wheel tractor mechanic. He’s a vital part of our island's farming ecosystem. Since the early '90s, he’s been supporting growers of all kinds by keeping their equipment running smoothly... because when your tools work, you can grow more food, more efficiently.
From hands-on workshops to running Living Lots, his North Saanich shop is more than just a repair station, it’s a hub for regenerative farming, resilient systems, and community-scale solutions. Billy's vision is clear: help farmers thrive in the present and prepare for a future where local self-reliance matters more than ever.
