Last weekend, we traveled to Armstrong to compete in .caninehub 's first K9Wave Canada dock event. The plan was originally to bring Dually and Mymic. Unfortunately, Mymic hurt her foot the day before we were set to start traveling, so she stayed home. Thankfully, we were able to switch her entries to Lady. We didn't know if Lady would swim or not, but we figured since they had a ramp division, we'd give it a shot. She swam a couple of times on Friday during practice, but come the actual splashes, there was just too much going on, and she wasn't so sure about it. We kept it light and fun to keep a good overall experience for her. Dually, unfortunately, I didn't have his best weekend. After slipping on the dock, his confidence on the dock dropped drastically. His usual 16' jump average dwindled down to 8-9' jumps. We decided to pull back and keep it fun and switched to the ramp for his last jump. We'll be working on getting that confidence back up here at home before our next event. Overall, we have some things to work on, but it was great to attend an event at a new pool. 🌊🐾
