Pet of the Week: Pascal 🌟

235 days.

That's how long Pascal has been waiting for someone to see what we see every single day: an absolutely incredible cat.

Pascal is one of our longest residents, and honestly, we're running out of ways to explain how perfect he is. He's affectionate, social, playful, and full of personality. Whether he's following you around looking for attention, curling up for cuddles, or showing off his goofy side, Pascal has a way of making everyone who meets him fall in love.

Pascal has spent 235 days watching other cats leave for their forever homes while he patiently waits for his turn. His new start is long overdue.

πŸŽ‰ That's why we're throwing a Pascal Party! πŸŽ‰

πŸ“… June 10⏰ 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM

Stop by the shelter to meet Pascal, spend some time with him, give him some love, and see for yourself why we're all so obsessed with this handsome guy. Feel free to bring him a toy or a treat.

If you've been thinking about adding a cat to your family, make Pascal your reason to stop in.

Let's find this amazing boy the forever family he's been waiting 235 days for. ❀️

Foster Friday - Nearly finished!

The kittens are now much more independent. While they still nurse from Mittens and gain valuable behavioural skills they spend a lot of their time playing.

They love exploring, playing with toys, climbing scratch posts, wrestling with each other, and trying to wrestle with humans.

As they approach 8 weeks of age and 1 kg in weight, we are preparing for the kittens to return to the shelter. Their spay and neuter surgeries have already been booked to limit the time their new adoptive families have to wait for them to come home.

Happy National Hug Your Cat Day! 🐱

If you’re lucky enough to have a cat at home, give them a hug, a chin scratch, a treat, or whatever form of affection makes them happiest.

Here at the shelter, we give our cats all the love we can. We cuddle them, play with them, and do our best to make their stay comfortable. But it’s not the same as having a home of their own and a family to call theirs.

So if you don’t currently have a cat to hug... we happen to know a few who are accepting applications. Send us a message or drop by the shelter during open hours 🐾

We would like to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude to the family of Don Gerlinger. In his obituary, his family asked that donations be made to the Drumheller & District Humane Society in his memory.'

It is deeply moving to know that, even in a time of grief, his family chose to extend kindness to the animals in our care. We are truly touched by this generosity. These gifts are more than donations, they are legacies that will continue to provide comfort, care, and second chances to animals in our community.

Moments like this remind us of the lasting impact compassion can have. Legacy giving, through memorial donations or other planned gifts, is one way that love for animals can continue to make a difference for years to come.

To the friends & family of Don: thank you for these gifts that will live on in the lives of the animals we help.
