🐾 Meet our newest trainee! 🐶✨

This sweet 10-week-old Golden Retriever is just beginning their training journey with us, and we’re excited to set the foundation for a confident, well-mannered dog.

At this age, we focus on early socialization, name recognition, and positive exposure to new environments. Obedience basics we’re working on include sit, down, recall (coming when called), and loose leash walking foundations.

We also start crate training and work on calmness around distractions — a key skill to prevent overstimulation as they grow. 🐾

We’ll be updating on this cutie’s progress over the next few weeks — stay tuned! 💛

Winter Tips for Your Dog 🐶

Winter can be a magical time, but it also comes with unique challenges for our four-legged friends. Here are five tips to keep your dog safe and happy this winter:

1. Protect Those Paws

Snow, ice, and salt can be harsh on your dog’s paws. Use pet-safe booties or apply paw balm to keep their pads soft and safe. Always rinse and dry their paws after walks to remove any salt or chemicals.

2. Keep Them Warm

Not all dogs are built for the cold. Consider a winter coat for short-haired or smaller breeds. Even larger dogs appreciate some extra warmth during long outings.

3. Adjust Exercise Times

Plan walks during the warmest parts of the day and limit time outside during extreme cold. Remember, if it’s too cold for you, it’s likely too cold for your dog!

4. Hydration Matters

Your dog needs just as much water in the winter as they do in the summer. Check their water bowl frequently to ensure it hasn’t frozen, especially if they’re outdoors.

5. Watch for Hazards

Antifreeze, ice-melt products, and frozen lakes can be dangerous. Keep a close eye on your dog and prevent them from licking or walking in unsafe areas.
