Cause For Applause Farm

Cause For Applause Farm A private dressage facility that produces level headed, quality horses for amateurs. Limited boarding

~ We are a boutique style facility with a relaxing environment for a small amount of boarders (We currently have a waiting list).

~ We also breed & sell quality Hanoverian & Oldenburg foals each year for the dressage & hunter rings

~ Lessons are available on our seasoned school horses that are never overworked and always well cared for. Or they are available for ship in or off property on your

own horses on a weekly basis or for show prep. CFAF is perfect for clients looking for a quiet, low key barn environment with detailed care and education for themselves and their mounts. We believe in producing top quality horses and riders that feel safe and confident in their riding abilities. We feel this is best done by us in a small program that focuses and gives attention to the whole package. We have experience being a full service, busy barn activity, show facility so we bring all that knowledge into a smaller unique environment.

We haven’t had the chance to formally welcome Shannon and her new mare Shadow to the farm family (Shannon has been around the barn for the past year and Shadow arrived in early December) Shadow is a lovely Appendix QH that was used previously for some camps and lessons. Can’t wait to see your and Shadow’s journey together 🩷

Looking for riders/part boarders for 3 horses! Info below:

Fabby - Registered branded Hanoverian by Fabuleux black gelding 16.3hh, 18yrs, has been professionally trained, has sat on the back burner for many years. We have started and restarted this guy many times and once he’s going he’s really nice under saddle. As long as you take it slow to start and ease back into work he’s pretty predictable. Super nice quality gaits, knows how to go round and lengthen and collect stride. Has been ridden bridle-less. Not a spooky type. Intermediate rider safe when in a program and super reliable. Must be in program and not left. Can be pushy on the ground. Has some decent bucks if not in a regular riding work. Open to allow him to show low level dressage or hunter once going. Available for a free lease on property. Please reach out to discuss.

Eggo - Canadian Warmblood by Eclipsed by Colour chestnut gelding 16hh, 14yrs, has been professionally trained. Has been a “lemon” with multiple injuries over the years which has prevented him from pursuing a full career. He currently is sound to do light ring work and maybe some trails. Super sweet in your pocket guy. Loves attention. Easy, smooth smaller gaits under saddle. He has had a few years off to sort his body out. He is currently very herd bound. He is more of a sensitive type and looks for confidence in his rider. He requires a kind, patient and experienced handler/rider. He is VERY steady and workmanlike when he trusts his person. Available for a free lease to do ground work or ride. I am willing to put in additional vetting or bodywork to keep him happy and comfortable. Not able to show. Please reach out to discuss.

Sweetie - Draft/TB x Bay mare 16hh, approx 18yrs. Super super super safe. Can leave for 7mths and hop on her and walk on a long rein. She has mostly been used for beginner lessons. Has given multiple riders there confidence back after falls at other barns. She has a super slow trot. W/T/C. Her canter is a little unbalanced but safe. She will come to a slow stop if she feels her rider loosing balance. She is light off the leg but honest. Beginner safe in lessons. Bc she is light off the leg she’s more intermediate safe if riding on their own. She does hack but gets a bit nervous due to a bad experience with a previous part boarder. She is perfect to handle on the ground. She is available for part board for light riding. She can do more but needs front shoes when in more work. She is an absolute unicorn so she is NOT FREE to ride. Please reach out to discuss.

Flash - April 12-17, 2024 💔❤️
Finnigan x Diamon Tiara K (Splash)

To say we are devastated is an understatement. There was so much love already for you Flash. You were strong, beautiful and smart. It’s hard to believe you can fall in love so fast but he captured our hearts.

Carefully planned and long awaited you were the most anticipated foal on the farm for a long time. There was so much time and financial effort put into your conception. It came down to a congenital birth defect that is super rare and impossible to fix, even at OVC. I’m sorry we couldn’t fix you. We tried so hard.

Your mama is still looking for you out the door, calling for you and smelling where you use to lay down. I feel so heartbroken for her. You have left a huge hole in my heart and I’m not sure how to even breathe without bursting into tears. Life is not fair and I feel defeated. Hug your horses because there is often so much time, money, planning and love put into these amazing animals by their breeder ❤️💔
