This is what people do not understand!

I had a person call me today. Asked me about training.

It went something like this...

I'm a beginner I need help.

Ok

Well how long do you think you'll need for my horse ?

Ma'am I don't know I haven't met your horse.

I need her started. She's gentle. I'm thinking I can probably take her home and do it myself after 30 days.

Me... no.

So hear me out. 30 days, depending on the horse. Gentling. Saddling. Learning how to accept a rider. Learning how to carry the weight of a rider. Learning how to stop, guide around, have confidence while movement freely under saddle. Depending on the horse, getting out of the arena and confidence on the trail. Confidence without another horse on the trail. And the list goes on from there ....

At this point the horse may have a handful of rides outside the arena. A handful of rides. A handful of lopes under saddle.

This is such a small page in the book of the horses life. This isn't even a chapter y'all. It's a page.

Almost everything you and your horse do from this point out, your horse will be doing for the very first time... a new place, a new sight, a new experience...

And if you are a beginner... and you lack the confidence ... and you get into a sticky situation , you can create a lasting memory/behavior for your horse.

I'm not saying you need to leave your horse with me longer than 30 days to start because I'm greedy...I'm saying that because I want to see you succeed. I'm saying that because I want to help you and your horse get on the same page and be long term happy and successful partners.

While your horse is in training, Once a week you get a lesson with me. Do the math with the time I'm spending there with you including the full training. The feed, me paying my staff and everything else it takes to run things around here. I'm not making much on this...

I mean sure you can try... but it's my job to try to help you be as successful as possible. Mentally and physically long term, you and your horse.

I’ve been a lil busy lately! I definitely have been neglecting this page! But currently I have 3 horses in for training. This gorgeous 3 yr old gelding already has 60 days on him and he is a dream to ride. I’m blessed by some wicked horses!

Flying Arrow Performance Horses is opening it’s doors to some more client horses!

I have one spot left for May! A few for June and July!

I operate out of my family farm located Between Didsbury and Olds. Please message me with any questions! $650/month

What do we offer
- C**t starting
- Tune ups
- Western riding
- Hauling experience
- Barrel patterning

My experience
- Educated in the Western Ranch And Cow horse program at Lakeland college.
- Over 10 years of horse 4h
- AQHA And APHA horse shows
- Have shown in a variety of classes as well as disciplines
Have access too
- many fields and trails on my own property and others.
- Cows to wander through
- An indoor arena 5 minutes away that is not heated
- An indoor arena 30 minutes away that is heated!
- Hauling to Energy Equine Vet once a month and can take more horses if needed.

- Horses will be penned with some well mannered others.
- Have access to automatic waterer
- Shelters
- Good quality hay.
- Blankets and grain is at the cost of the owner. If supplied will be using it!

Yesterday I got to go for a very needed trail ride with my friends through a bunch of fields. I decided miss Xena could go and see what it was all about. This little mare is truly a one in a million horse. Nothing phased her! From their dog in and out of the fields and grass. There was even birds flying around and going through the equipment yard. Even ran into my dad fixing equipment and she didn’t spook once! This little mare has not one bad bone in her body!

Xena got to go to the “big city” in terms of arenas today, took her to the local Didsbury Ag Society and she was so good! Some things were scary but she had no funny business what so ever! Very impressed with her!
