If anyone is free to help out, then here is the info.
******Nappy Spill Update and Volunteer Information for 30th October ********
An epic day at Abbotsham Cliffs clearing huge amounts of washed up nappies with a coordinated effort from Torridge District Council, the Marine Salvage team and lots of fantastic volunteers.
Many other groups of fantastic willing volunteers across North Devon got stuck in today removing these items from various locations across the area. So many of these areas looked clean by the time the tide came in but unfortunately tomorrow will bring more.
There are so many amazing communities getting stuck in to the clean up effort. Please read below for information on where you can leave the waste.
Bags are being placed in various locations for the public to pick up and use for the clean There will also be something(dumpy bags or skips) for the waste to be put into.
Saunton
* A dumpy bag is being put at the top of the slipway and asking people to put any that they find in there.
* Dropping bin bags off at the beach shop (One with the shark)
Woolacombe
* Bags are being given to Johnathon at the North Devon National Trust He will find a central location for them. We will update with the location.
*Any filled bags can be left at the top of the steps at Coombesgate or in the bin outside Woolacombe Tourist Information Centre. If the bin is full please ensure it is tied up and placed next to the bin.
Croyde
* Holly the Croyde Ranger has bags for volunteers Croyde Beach Carparks, Moor ln, Carpark office
*Please leave any waste off the beach in or next to a bin
Any other location:
*Make sure any waste is left out of harms way above the tide line. Find a suitable bin to place it in or place next to the bin if full. You can then report the waste to the local parish council or North Devon Council.
There will be a coordinated effort by Plastic Free Woolacombe and us from early doors at Coombesgate and Grunta tomorrow. The North Devon National Trust have already done an amazing job there today.
Low tide is at 11.07am tomorrow so there will be plenty of time before high tide to clear up what tonight's tides bring.
If you are heading out please wear good foot wear, waterproofs (tomorrow is going to be very wet) and bring bags and gloves. Take care near the water and on slippy rocks and park sensibly.
