💛 Still Waiting… Love, Gooseberry 💛

I don’t really understand why no one has chosen me yet.

My name is Gooseberry, and I’m almost 3 years old. Beneath all this fluffy fur is a girl who just wants to be loved — deeply, completely, and forever 🐾

I’ll admit it… attention is kind of my thing.

If you’re sitting down, I’ll happily join you.
If your hands are free, I’ll politely request pets.
And if you stop petting me too soon? Well… I may need to remind you that I was not finished yet 😌💛

But behind my silly little antics is a sensitive soul. I can be shy at first and need a little time to feel safe. Loud homes and lots of chaos aren’t really my style. I dream of a calm home with kind people who understand that trust and love sometimes take a moment to grow.

Once I settle in, though? Ohhh… that’s when the real me appears.

I love chasing toys, zooming after laser pointers, birdwatching from the window, and following my people around just to feel close to them. I also wouldn’t mind having another friendly kitty around for naps and companionship.

Mostly, I just want what every rescue cat hopes for:
A home.
A family.
Someone who sees me and says, “That’s my girl.” 💛

I know I’m not the loudest cat at the shelter.
But maybe my person just hasn’t found me yet.

🖤 Gentle Soul Seeking Quiet Forever Home 🖤

Hi… My name is Morty.

I’m 6 years old, and the world can feel a little overwhelming for me sometimes.

You see, I’m blind — well, mostly. I can still see some shadows and bright things, but new noises, sudden movements, and unfamiliar situations can make me feel scared. When that happens, I might hiss or growl a little. But please understand… I’m not mean. I’m just frightened and trying to protect myself the only way I know how.

What I really am… is a deeply loving boy with a very tender heart 💛

Once I feel safe and learn to trust you, I’ll show you the sweetest little habits. I don’t demand affection loudly. Instead, when I want cuddles, I’ll gently place my paw on my foster mom like I’m quietly asking,
“Could you stay with me for a little while?”

And honestly? It melts hearts every single time.

Here are a few other important things you should know about me:
🐾 I LOVE food… like, a lot. If snacks are involved, I suddenly become very brave.
🐾 Bright toys are my favourite, especially ones I can fling around dramatically.
🐾 Professional bed napper? Absolutely.
🐾 Calm routines and peaceful spaces make me feel safe and happy.

I’m looking for a quiet home where life moves gently. No chaos. No constant changes. Just patient, understanding humans who will love me exactly as I am.

I know I may not be the easiest cat.
I know some people might pass me by because I’m different.

But I also know that somewhere out there is someone with a soft heart who will see beyond my fears and realize I’m worth it Because once I love you… I really love you.

Today from 12–2 PM, our incredible founder Edna — along with fearless volunteers Jana and Flo — will be shaving their heads to help the rescue cats and kittens of Tails to Tell 🐾

Honestly, the shelter cats are still deeply confused by the whole situation:
🐱 “Humans are removing their own fur on purpose?”
🐱 “This seems medically unnecessary.”
🐱 “Couldn’t they just donate treats instead?”

But in all seriousness, this amazing fundraiser will help provide food, medical care, shelter, and second chances for the cats and kittens who rely on us every single day 💛

Quiet Soul Seeking Patient Human 🖤🐾

Hi… my name is Grixie.

I’m about a year old, a little shy, and still figuring out this whole “trusting humans” thing. You see, before I came to the shelter, I spent weeks outside during the cold winter, quietly surviving on my own. People only caught glimpses of me on security cameras before I was finally brought to safety in December.

Life taught me to be careful.

But underneath all that caution? There’s a very sweet boy who wants to trust. 💛

I’m not the kind of cat who will burst into your home demanding attention on day one. I’m more of a slow-burn kind of guy. The kind who watches quietly from across the room… then slowly inches closer… then one day surprises you by leaning into your hand for soft pets.

And honestly? Those little moments mean everything.

Here’s what I’m looking for:

HELLO TAILS TO TAILS FOLLOWERS!!🌞

Look who we have on mini vacay. A couple of familiar faces and a newbe.

Thommas is hanging out with our friends at Pet Planet in Sierra Springs (Airdrie). This boy loves everyone.

Suni is making her debut over at Global Pet Foods in the Kingsview Market (Airdrie). Come in and meet this gorgeous house panther.

You've probably met Adelle and saw one of her feature posts. She's looking for her forever family...maybe that's you! Check her out over at PetValu in Coopers Crossing (Airdrie).

Our unique Curley...his tails actually curls over his back, is handing out purrs, head boops and chin rubs to everyone he meets. He's with our friends at Susi Q's in Carstairs.

🖤 Meet Polo & Marco 🖤

Some bonds are simply too special to break.

Polo and Marco are a beautiful bonded mother-son duo searching for a forever home where they can stay together — just as they always have been. Their journey hasn’t been an easy one, but through everything life has thrown at them, they’ve had each other.

This gentle pair wandered onto a farm in Madden as strays, trying to survive the best they could.

Sweet Marco arrived with a serious injury to one of his back legs. Our veterinarian believes it had likely been broken at some point and healed incorrectly on its own. Thankfully, amputation wasn’t necessary. Despite everything he’s endured, Marco remains a soft, quiet soul who simply wants to feel safe and loved.

Mama Polo also carries reminders of her past. After suffering severe frostbite while living outdoors, she lost both of her ears. But what she hasn’t lost is her gentle heart. Once she learns she can trust you, Polo absolutely melts into affection and happily soaks up every pet and bit of love she’s given.

At first, both Polo and Marco can be shy. They’ve learned to be cautious in life. But with patience, kindness, and gentle introductions, their sweet personalities begin to shine through.

Marco is a calm, tender 2-year-old boy who enjoys quiet companionship and soft affection. Polo, at 3 years old, is a loving mama who finds comfort in being close to the people she trusts most.

And through it all, they continue to lean on one another.

There is something truly beautiful about watching these two together — the comfort, safety, and quiet love they share is impossible to miss. After everything they’ve survived, we would love nothing more than to see them finally experience the warmth and security of a forever home together 💛
