📝 I am new to Creston, but definitely not to the Kootenays. I started a fairly successful business in Cranbrook in 2008, The Playpen Pet Boarding & Grooming. After 10 years of hard work, I made the tough decision to sell, which I did in 2018. I moved to Prince Edward Island to semi retire. However, I missed home, so here I am back in the Kootenays. And even better the West Kootenay! I am hoping to start another small social enterprise. I have 18+ years experience in animal care/rescue/advocacy and I want to bring my passion, knowledge, and commitment to animals to the Creston area to open a small pet boarding business in collaboration with a non profit to support companion animals in need. (I presently volunteer with PAWS and would not compete with them, but work with them and compliment their Mission) The challenge is finding a location for this endeavor. If you have:

• 2+ acres

• With a good size ‘shop’ (at least 1500 square feet), with a solid concrete floor

• Plumbing and Electrical

• The ‘people’ living space - I am not too fussy about - it is about the animals 🙂

• Needs to be located in an area that is zoned to allow such a project (depending on the location, a variance may be an option)

• Desired location East and South of Creston (Canyon Lister) area.

• Budget - negotiable 🙂

• Please help me help the animals

Wellllll Koffie finally got skunked … 🦨

After using Purodora Lab 2 Part Skunk Odour System I can happily confirm it works an absolute treat! We sell it in store as the 2 parts and also individually.

I used the entire neutralizer spray bottle on her, but only 1/3 of the shampoo. I’ll be restocking the spray to keep on hand at home.

Someone then felt very sorry for herself all day after being made to sleep outside, getting bathed, and being brushed all in 1 day.

I didn’t expect to have such a positive update so quickly, however our community is phenomenal and I am SO thankful!

Beloved Laurie is coming in to help us 1 day per week grooming!

We have a wonderful experienced groomer Karla who will also be helping us 1 day per week for the short term, and 2 groomers in different stages of training.

You will also see our beautiful Deb back every so often!
