Good morning everyone Trish here. I'm in an interesting relationship with some kidney stones at the moment I will touch base with everyone tomorrow and book our training times for this week. People have been calling me Crazy (wouldn't be the first time) because my rates are so reasonable. Here's a look into my brain. Being an animal lover, the videos we see of animals abused and neglected on social streams just kills me. The most recent was a Samoyed pup who was near death and then made an incredible comeback. What if the people hadn't found that dog abandoned in the woods? What could I do to prevent this from happening? anyone who has owned a Samoyed knows they are not a dog for the inexperienced. Like huskies they come with the need for continual training, exercise and understanding. Many will buy these working sled dogs because they are cute and fluffy not realizing they are probably one of the toughest to train and live harmoniously with in an urban setting. What if I helped people not only train their animals but CHOOSE the right dog for their home? Could I prevent this from happening? Well, I'm going to try.

Street Creds time!
As a child, I grew up in a home focused on breeding, field trialing, and hunting Labrador retrievers. My dad and I spent many hours each week training our dogs for competition and fieldwork. In early adulthood, I worked at the largest boarding kennel in Western Canada, Country Club Pet Resort, a branch off of Brooks Kennels. There were hundreds of dogs boarded offering me deep insight into a multitude of breeds, their needs and health concerns. During this time I was eager to learn and worked with an amazing Veterinarian who allowed me to take courses along with his staff to further my education. Animal Nutrition was a huge passion for me. I then transitioned into a mobile dog grooming business. I focused on offering my services to pet owners who were housebound due to age or medical conditions or dogs that didn't do well in a grooming salon environment. Geriatric dogs, puppies and those who were simply scared beyond belief to get groomed were my clientele. Spending time making the process enjoyable was my goal.
Next, I was hired by Bosley's Pet's to set up a grooming facility within their locations across Alberta which then led me to being a Dog Grooming Instructor at the Alberta Academy of Dog grooming.
Today I have 3 amazing Labrador Retrievers that are the world to me. Enjoying every minute of my time with these guys is my motivating factor urging me to reach out to others to help them achieve that 10/10 relationship with their dogs.

You know you are ready to be a dog owner, but with the many breeds and breed mixes available which dog would be best suited for your household? Are there known behavior issues or health issues you should be aware of? These are all great questions I can help answer! We can go through dogs up for adoption, or source out a reputable breeder, either way your breed choice matters, especially for the animal. Far too many dogs are abandoned, neglected, or abused simply because their temperament wasn't a proper match for the household. All puppies are cute, but knowing what to expect during the trying teen times, and in adulthood and how to move forward into a successful relationship with your pet is what it's all about. Knowledge is puppy power people!
