Thousands of dogs get loose every year, some are never found. Teaching your dog thresholds is one of the most important things they can learn. Not only will it keep them safe, it will make your life so much easier. No more locking them in a room so you can load or unload the car, no more fighting with them at the door when guests come over. But the best part is not worrying about them getting loose and taking off. So before you teach paw and roll over, work with your pooch on thresholds and other things to keep them safe.

Remy’s young and full of energy, her owners are having trouble getting her attention when they’re outdoors. Repeating your commands with no follow through will only teach your dog to ignore you. Being precise and to the point will help your pup learn exactly what you want from them when you give commands. Having a leash and using and little luring will help you in the early stages. These are the results of less than 15 minutes of work, her owners are going to practice and have her focused in no time!

Providing your pup the opportunity for new experiences is crucial in their development. Being a farm dog Eli didn’t get the chance to socialize much in his puppy days. At just over a year he was afraid of new people, places and pretty much anything he didn’t know. His owners sent him for a few weeks of board training and it couldn’t have gone better. He’s happy to meet new people that come to his house and he is the most popular dog at his trailer park.

This is 8 year old black lab rescue named Ren, his owners were worried about his leash reactivity. They worked with another trainer before who wasn’t able to help. They were told his reacting was due to fear, but after working with him for a little bit I could tell he was just confused. Unsure how to act, his only response was to react. When he got face to face with other dogs he would sniff with far to much intensity and attempt to mount. With some gentle corrections we were able to let him know that was not what we wanted from him. After realizing he was no longer able to do this, he started to avoid! This is what you want, if a dog with this mind state can learn to avoid then the next step is for them to get curious.

Saddie gets overly excited, especially on the leash. Her owner has been dealing with this problem for a while and because she has an injury it makes this behaviour quite dangerous for her. It took no time for Saddie to understand what we wanted from her, she doesnt have it down 100%. But with consistent work from the owners part, she will in no time

Today I worked with a Dalmatian mix named Uno. During our session I was was able to determine her reacting is due to insecurities and not any type of aggression. I will be working with her and her owner more this week and from todays results I’m certain they will both do amazing. Cant wait for lesson two tomorrow, stay turned for some video updates from Uno.

Most grown men aren't able to walk 200 lbs of dog, but this 7 year old makes it look easy. Curve ball, its her first time ever walking a dog on a leash. If she is able to handle a Rottweiler and Pitbull like this then surely anyone can master this skill. Learn the techniques used to teach these dogs with Real World Dog Training and never have a bad walk again.
