Ory (Oryead) & Donny (Donatello Van Insha) out grazing together—our stallions, just being horses.

Across the way, Ailish is tucked into her own space… and due any day now.

We’ve always believed horses should be raised together—without the preconceived ideas that stallions need to be separate or difficult. When given the right start, structure, and respect, they are loyal and respectful back.

These two are the best of buddies. They each live cover their own herds, and still come back to graze side by side—quiet, mannerly, and easy for us to handle through it all.

Amateur-friendly minds, strong foundations… and passing that on to their foals.

Sprout Meadows is seeking a reliable and motivated Farm Hand to join our team on a busy, multi-species working farm.

This position is well suited to an individual who is self-driven, capable of working independently, and confident in problem-solving and general farm operations. The successful candidate will enjoy working outdoors, be comfortable around livestock, and take pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient farm environment.

Position Details:
Part-time: 25–35 hours per week
Schedule to be determined based on farm needs

Key Responsibilities:
Daily feeding and care of horses, cattle, and pigs
Cleaning and maintaining paddocks and common areas
Monitoring and filling water systems
Operating equipment to move and distribute round bales to herd feeders
Clearing fence lines using appropriate equipment
Building, repairing, and maintaining fences and farm structures
General farm maintenance and support with day-to-day operations

Qualifications:
Experience working with horses and/or livestock is preferred
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong problem-solving skills and initiative
Comfortable operating farm equipment
Basic construction and repair skills are considered an asset
Physically capable of performing manual labour in all weather conditions

Previously jumped up to 1.10m with her former owner. Since arriving with us, she has been:

Our stallions have exceptional minds—smart, kind, and rideable—and even enjoy daily field turnout together, reinforcing the mental soundness we value in our breeding program.

We also offer boarding and development options for purchasers, supporting youngsters through to starting under saddle when the time is right.
