Gunnar's Place K9 Sitting Services & Training

Gunnar's Place K9 Sitting Services & Training Gunnar's Place leverages 14 years of experience in dog boarding & daycare to understand your dogs needs.

In addition to dog training We offer boarding as well as PEMF therapy. It’s a WHOLE DOG approach so your dog can live its best life. As dog owners ourselves, we realize how hard it can be to find someone you can trust to look after your dogs in your absence. That is why at Gunnar's Place we believe in a completely open concept where your Canine family member will be treated as one of our own. They will have access to 5 acres to run and play, walks and time indoors with our family.

Adoption pending 🐾

It’s been a while since we’ve had a foster.

Meet Nola. She is just over 3 years old weighing in at a solid 42lbs. She is an Old Dominion Terrier ( Decker Terrier)
What we know about her - medium energy for a terrier - daily hikes still a must.
Good with gentle kids.
Not tested with cats but if she is anything like our ratties, cats are a no go zone.
If you are interested in applying for Nola contact The Farm
I’m excited to get to know her. She’s basically a bigger calmer version of a rat terrier. 🐾

What do you do with a 4 month old rambunctious puppy when it’s hot out? Practice skills required to be a professional supervisor of course 😂 Rosie is a Newfypoo so supervising comes naturally to her although she still thinks she’s a lap dog 😂

Posting on behalf of the owner. We all know how cruel the internet can be with rehoming hence why I’m posting on their behalf. If you are interested please dm Gunnar’s Place. If you are a potential fit I will put you in touch with the owner. I have met this dog and spent time with her she is lovely.

From the owner
This is Rosie, she's 4 years old, I got her when she was 4 months as a rescue from Tofino. German shepherd mix. Very high energy, super smart. Crate trained, ...needs to wear a muzzle if off leash. She is selectively social/ reactive with other dogs and has a bite history with dogs. Nervous of new people so I always ask that new people ignore her when the first meet her. She is good with other dogs and people once she knows them. Some issues with resource guarding at times. I've put a lot of time into this girl and I want her to find the best home. Big life changes means I haven't been able to meet her needs reliably any more. She is healthy, up to date on all vaccines. Could work on some house manners- she's been living with a lap dog for last few months and has picked up some small dog habits that can be a bit unbecoming in a big dog ( pawing for attention, jumping up at you when you come home)
She is very smart and easy to train so these habits will easily change with some consistency. She is used to leash runs with a bike. Her prey drive is intense but the training has curbed that in a big way. Recall is good. I think she would do best in a home with other big dogs that can help place her in the middle of the pack ( she can be very bossy if she thinks she's in charge ) or no other dogs and in a home with someone calm and dog savvy with time to give her the exercise and mental stimulation she needs. I am not in a rush, I am looking for someone who is willing to do some trial meetings and over nights to ensure it is a good fit. I can go on and on about this dog but if you are interested I'll save that info for in person.
