Are you as excited for this growing season as we are? This is our first full year farming at Minto Farm in Courtenay, BC. What an honor it is to take over this farm and see it through to its next phase.

This year we hope to bring you weekly flower bouquets, an array of garlic products as well as select bulk veggies.

Garlic is planted, Dahlia tubers are waiting and seeds are being started. What’s next?

Formerly Wild Acre Farms- It’s time to reintroduce ourselves!

It’s been a while, We missed you all! I took a social media break as we have been raising our sweet little baby boy but I thought it would be time for an update. (Scroll to the end for some cute pics)

We have been super busy! We moved to Courtenay on Vancouver Island, Ben is building Saunas, Wyatt is leaning to crawl and in my ‘spare time’ you can catch me and Wyatt working on our small plot up the road on a beautiful property known as ‘Minto Farm’. For now we will be operating under their name and we are excited to be here and to be serving the local community!

As for the farming, we use natural and organic practices to the best of our abilities to grow our fruits veggies and flowers. Focusing on regenerative systems and no-till methods. Our farm currently focuses on producing garlic, dahlias and selling fruits from pre-existing trees.

There will be more to come as we slowly develop our plot. Our aim is to grow for ‘homesteaders without property’. This would eventually include tomatoes, canning veggies and herbs such as cucumbers, beets and beans, and dill, baking fruits such as rhubarb, raspberries, strawberries and some medicinal or heath items such as elderberries.

Introducing Wyatt Ryder! Born October 23rd, 6:57pm, 6lbs 11oz. He has been absolutely amazing and we couldn’t be happier. Tons of thanks to Grandma Dor and grandpa Dan for your help with the dogs and all our other life tasks while we’ve been snuggling this sweet newborn. Also another huge thanks to everyone who was there during the pregnancy, or supported us with gifts and baby supplies as well as everyone who has been checking in on us since Wyatt was born. We love you all!

It has been quite quiet on the farm page, so I guess it’s time to make a little announcement! We are expecting a baby in mid October!

After years of growing the farm, we are now growing a family. This year the farm has been growing veggies for personal use. That being said, we may be doing some sales here and there but there will be no veggies boxes available at this time.

As for the upcoming years, we will be moving at some point as well so this very well may be the end of Wild Acre Farms as we know it.

To everyone who has purchased from us, sending you such a huge thank you for all the support and loyalty. We couldn’t have done it with out you. It’s been so great meeting everyone and sharing stories about food and life along the way. I will miss you all! Thank you for such a great experience!
