It has been a while since we have posted anything. Life has NOT gone to the dogs for us, however we have managed to keep a toe in the scene with some frozen swimmers from Duck (Kijabewinds Orbit Star Tracker). Little Garnet is in her forever home and learning from her big sister. There were 4 girls and 1 boy in this delightful litter from Wyldewater (Pikkinokka Asea on WyldeWater) in Indiana.

For 25 years we have had a red dog.
Now there are none.
Monday, Aero and I had our final breakfast date on the deck. It was one of our many routines and as the week without her has progressed I realize more and more how intricately she was woven into our days.
There is a fading shadow in the places we expect her. Under the trailer on the driveway there is a divot in the gravel where she spent a good part of her day, always cool and shady, I keep glancing there.
A visitor surprised me coming to the door, there was no greeting bark.
I changed into my walking clothes with no fanfare of eager tail wagging and impatient dog chatter.
She had her faults. I’m not disillusioned there. Having a toller means having the constant struggle of dealing with dog hair. But all the naughties and inconveniences seem like trivial human intolerances now. She was my buddy, doorbell, composter, cuddler, entertainer, customer greeter for , ball chasing fool, big goof and she was my constant walking partner.

Shout out to Sea To Sea Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers for raising this stellar litter of pups. Even when you think you have a good wait list prior to breeding when you have a litter this large it means not only a huge time commitment to raising them, but also a bit of a challenge to sort out all the homes. Heidi is a very conscientious breeder and if you are wanting to add a toller to your family, she has a few still looking for their forever homes. Well done team Sea to Sea 💕

There’s few things better than a litter of puppies…but a litter of 11 Toller puppies just might make the top of the list 🥰🐾

What kind of dog is that? The most common question when you are walking a toller.
‘A Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever’ seems like a fairly straight forward answer right?
‘OH Are those the ones from Newfoundland?’ 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️
We are in Newfoundland, only saw one of these but just in case anyone is still wondering…they do look very different.

Kijabewinds Perfect Pitch 2016-2023 It is with great sadness we share the loss of one of our precious girls. Stella had a traumatic accident and her people had to let her go. Stella is their third Kijabewinds girl and Auntie Soleil, their second, will have to hold the fort on her own now. She was loved so well because she loved so well, dogs do that, unconditionally.
