Choking emergencies can happen quickly, but a few simple precautions can help keep your pet safe.

✔️ Choose toys that are appropriately sized for your pet.
✔️ Inspect toys regularly and replace damaged ones.
✔️ Supervise pets when enjoying chews, bones, or treats.
✔️ Keep small household items like coins, batteries, hair ties, and children's toys out of reach.
✔️ Encourage slower eating with puzzle feeders or slow-feed bowls if your pet tends to gulp their food.

Knowing the signs of choking—such as difficulty breathing, excessive pawing at the mouth, gagging, or distress—can help you act quickly in an emergency.
