Hey everyone !!
We are reaching out for some help and support for our family and friend !!!
Last year my beautiful niece Amanda Hynes was diagnosed with a very rare appendix cancer. She had surgery very quickly once diagnosed and endured some super harsh chemo and she WON !! She kicked cancers ass and we couldn’t be more proud of her strength as she fought that hard battle at only 33 years of age !!!
She didn’t let cancer win ….. refused to let that diagnoses bring her down ….. she is a trooper and moved right along with her life not getting down, and with only smiles and positivity she began making a new career for herself , is engaged to be married to the love of her life Andy and they’ve planned a beautiful future together. We couldn’t be more proud of this kiddo ( she’ll always be a kiddo to us ).
She was born a fighter …. Born a 24 week baby weighing in at only 1 pound 3 ounces she’s fought from the minute she took her first breath …. Small and mighty , this gal IS a fighter ❤️
Fast forward to thursday of this week , the phone rings and she has to see her oncologist Friday morning only to get the dreaded news that this horrible disease has reared its ugly head once again !! Amanda received some devestating news yet again , that she has been diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian and bowel cancer. It came fast and is aggressive !! Her oncologist here in St. John’s is working closely with a specialist in Nova Scotia and are planning a very intense HIPEC/ CRA SURGERY to treat her. The surgery is very intense and has a long, hard recovery but Amanda is young and tough and everyone is confidant that if she is a candidate for this surgery then she can and will beat this again ! She’s got an army of people who love her fighting right by her side !!
She will undergo chemotherapy & laparoscopic surgery here in St. John’s first as well as some immunotherapy to help boost her system before she is able to travel to Halifax for her surgery
It will be a tough road for Mandy, not able to work and she and Andy will have some costly expenses for travel , accommodations , medications and everyday bills so we’ve decided to try to help them as much as well possibly can financially so they don’t also have that extra burden of costs M, and we as well and want then to have a wonderful Christmas 🙂
I am reaching out to all of you today as we’re going to do a 50/50 draw with the draw date being Dec 24 just in time for Christmas 🙂.
