New!!! For decades I have had clients beg me to take their puppies for Board & Training in my home. I did for some special cases, however I really don't believe they work UNLESS it is done a certain way. It DOESN'T matter what a trainer can do with your pup, we also have to raise your knowledge, skill level & reasonable expectations. Let's face it, training puppies is not easy and they are a lot of work!!.
Your puppy will NOT be warehoused in a kennel, basement or garage, it will be living in my home. I teach and use kind effective methods that work and I do NOT use corrections or shock collars to train. Frankly, I have a higher skill level than to use those methods.
This Program is open to Puppies from 8 weeks - 16 weeks of age. They must have had vaccinations, vet check and a clean f***l test.
I will only take in a max of 2 puppies at the same time.
Program includes:
Crating (used properly)
Management
Impulse Control
Leash Skills
Long Line Skills
Off Leash Skills in my fenced pastures (no livestock present)
Bite Inhibition
Four on the Floor (no jumping up)
Proper Play and Calm Down
Gentle Holds (NOT pinning them)
Polite Greetings
Ignoring Reinforcers (Rewards)
This is the short list, there is more!
Customized for you i.e Puppy on or off the furniture, socializing your pup in public etc. Those are your choices, not mine. Personally my pups and dogs are allowed on the furniture but that is my choice.
Your Puppy comes to me for 1-3 weeks with a custom program of being with me, then going home for a week, In Home lessons where I come to your home while your pup is home for 2-3 lessons, then they come back to me. Repeat and rinse for as many weeks as you want. You will be provided with photos and videos daily along with a written report 2 times a week.
Open door policy and you can call me at any time for consults.
At this time, I am offering this program to puppies under 4 months of age.

These are the services I will be offering:
In Home, 1 on 1 lessons in your home, yard or neighborhood, customized to your issues and needs. From some fine tuning on skills or teaching new skills, leash problems, jumping up to reactivity. Puppy management and training using my proven Puppy Primer Program, the earlier you start the more you avoid unwanted behaviors.
Phone Consults.
Mobile Agility Coaching/Training. Fine tuning skills, flat skills, and teaching you and your dog if you have equipment. Once the snow is gone, I will be offering Mobile Agility Beginner & Foundations Skills where I bring 'some' of my equipment to you.
Workshops and Seminars at other dog training facilities: Behavioral Issues, Reactivity, Proper Tug Play, Impulse Control and Agility.
I am still going to be training, I just have had to restructure where within the time I have available.

It is with a heavy heart that I have to write this. Going forward my On Target Dog Training facility is closed for all lessons including Group or Private Puppy, Obedience, Agility and Behavioral Consults. There will be no Agility fun matches, Open Practices or Trials, not now nor in the future. It is also not available for rentals for anything, it will be my dog's private playground. My regulation agility equipment is not for sale, for the simple reason I still have an agility dog and to replace the equipment in the future would be too costly.
I have to restructure my business because I am now a full time caregiver to my husband. Therefore I will be only offering In Home lessons (I come to the client to train/teach), Phone and Zoom Consults. I am keeping my business name and will continue to be insured for the new services I will be offering.
To the over 20,000 treasured clients, Thank you for letting me be a part of your dog training journey. Watching you increase your skills and seeing your dogs learn to be willing, happy and trained companions was a pleasure. Knowing I was a part of fearful and non confident dog's learning to be brave and confident will always hold a special place in my heart.
Oh the fun we had in class, I know my teaching style didn't suit everyone but frankly training should be enjoyable and fun, not a drill or too serious because the dogs don't like it and therefore we can't get the most out of them. We should always be trying to create a willing happy partner. The joke that what happens at agility stays at agility, still makes me laugh remembering some things (no dog or person was ever harmed ).
I hope my lessons of do no harm, and never push, pull or force a dog (or horse) had an impact. I have been teaching and training animals for my entire life by that rule and it worked. And I did it without being a 'treat trainer', :) Using corrections and force is a CHOICE and one I avoid by trying to figure out how to get what I wanted without it. And I am proud of that.

*New group classes will start in the end of January on Saturdays, on going agility classes will continue each week weather permitting.

*To meet new client training needs, I will be offering 1 on 1 Private lessons here in my large indoor heated facility. 1 Hour per week for 6 weeks unless you would to double up each week. Times and dates can be flexible due to work schedules and of course winter weather.
*There is availability during Weekdays, Week evenings and Weekends at this time. Package Deal: $336.00 for 6 - 1 hour lessons ( must be paid in full prior the first lesson)
*Puppy, Life Skills, Reactivity, Agility (all levels competitive or recreational) and Behavior Consults.

Everyone, if you are trying to contact me or sent an email. We have a family member which is in Palliative Care. As some of you may or may not know, my husband has severe Dementia and he is not handling this very well as expected. Therefore he requires my full attention.
