This week’s guests at the Cat House are out exploring the building for a little exercise!

DID YOU KNOW?!? Cats are inherently more cautious explorers than their dog friends? While a dog may bound enthusiastically into any room, a cat often requires persuasion or time to enter a new environment!

At Happy Tails, our feline friends are provided with their own private enclosures, with partitions between a the rooms so that our guests do not get worked up over the sight of their neighbour!

While the kitties settle in and get used to their new temporary home, we leave ambient music playing so that they feel like they aren’t abandoned, we have open air windows for a fresh breeze, and our staff will slowly familiarize themselves to the cat. Once kitty is feeling brave and comfortable, we allow them out one at a time for some indoor exploring of the building! This stimulates their curiosity and prevents boredom, while also allowing them to feel more at ease with their surroundings!
